1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Thrustmaster T500RS left paddle shifter feels "numb"

Got my T500 from warranty service recently, but now it developed another problem. Left paddle shifter is feels very weird and "numb". Different from right paddle, it doesn't make click sound, like right paddle. This was fine until I sent the unit to warranty service (a steering related problem that they succesfully fixed).

For now the left paddle is working, but not making that micro-switch "click" (or very silent). Doesn't matter much I guess but still bothers me a little... can't avoid thinking if it's going to eventually break down totally, and start skipping shifts? Can I open and fix it somehow, without voiding the remaining warranty (a few months left)?

Help would be (again) very appreciated.

  3. If i remember right, the button for these shifter are on a pcb, maybe you can write to Thrustmaster and they can send you the pcb and replace it yourself (well they did that when i had problem with my potentiometer, they send me the part and i replaced it myself and didn't void the warranty). You can even buy some spare at the same time and you will save shipping since they already send you warranty stuff.

If you don't hear the click sound usually it's the metal dome inside the button who broke, worst case scenario if you wait the button will eventually stop working because the strength of the spring used with the paddle to pressure the spring will keep it pushed. But it's not very hard to replace the button only, you can search on http://www.digikey.com/ it's a common button you need the pitch of the leg and the overall dimension of the button, some solder skill and to know the circuit inside the push button to order the right one.

The only thing i hate on the T500rs is the pot they use in the pedal, it's a custom one with a 25 degree angle resistance travel. So i made myself a converter with an op-amp to add some gain on the voltage level so i can use a normal 10k pot and the ADC inside the steering don't see any difference since it calibrate it every time you plug it.

You can remove the paddles for inspection without voiding the warranty seems pretty straight forward, documentation is on the thrustmaster website but ill link it for you.
This way you can inspect the actual button to see if its an issue with that or maybe they took these off and havent put them back on properly.

    This.

It can easily be something misplaced while inspecting the steering issues at TM.

Mine's developed the same problem until sometimes it didn't register, I opened the actual micro switch and watched the movement.
Hard to explain but there is an arm that's curved that on movement then contact makes the click, I could see that the curve needed to be sharper or shallower, can't remember exactly but a wee bend then test while still open solved it, been fine ever since.
Or just buy micro switch from Maplins and solder new one in.:):)
