1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

XB1 Close to impossible Special Events?

    Hello!

After playing AC on the Xbox One for quite awhile and being experienced with simulators both on the controller and the wheel I reached some sort of breaking point.
No matter how hard I try some Hot Lap Special Events are impossible to gold. For example, the P1 on SPA, the M4 on the Nurburgring GP, the M3 E92 Drift on Magione and more. Seriously, my times are pretty darn fast and yet they are asking me to cut down 3 or 4 seconds more. It is impossible!

Then there are some which I do on the first try, on the first lap. Like the Audi R8 on Catalunya and the Escort on Brands Hatch.

Makes no sense. The times need to be tested again and adjusted accordingly.

It's same across both consoles, the AI and difficulty levels are far and above the average gamers abilities in quite a few races, especially on a controller i'd say. They're all over the place with scaling and it shows like you say with some being a breeze even on the Alien setting then others feeling almost impossible on easy setting. Kunos are working on it.

    I'm on the PC.

Often the car setup by default is quite terrible & it need an optimal setup to clear them.

There's some obvious stuff to cover to gain speed.
-Keep the car as lowest as possible for aerodynamic, speed advantage & the tire always in contact to the road surface(soft suspension while maintain are 4 wheels on the ground as much as possible). Like when braking, accelerating or turning hard & avoid making the wheels lift off the ground. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=233360014
-While cornering with the toes & camber for optimal tire contact while turning to correct excessive oversteering on entry, apex & exit.
-Tires temperature have to be optimal for cornering. Some tires choice are better than others.
-Some car have TC, ABS, kers, DRS, MGU & turbo adjustment. You have to use them at your advantage

They are hard indeed, but not impossible.

I did clear gold with the e92 drift on Magione

I also cleared the M4 on the nurburging GP(note: default setup, much easier with small tweak on the setup)

Hotlaps are hard for sure, but that is the way it should be, if they made the golds easier they are pointless for more advanced players. I think the medal spread should be altered though, the bronze and silvers are too close together and should be backed off a little, some of the golds are far too easy....

The F40 at Mugello is the toughest one I have tried so far, not even managed bronze in that one yet  I will get there eventually!

Getting the right tyre pressure with the road cars is important, it can shave big chunks off lap times ;)

Two that are mentioned in the OP all be it on the PS4

Yeah, come back to us when you beaten that 'hotlap' haha;). I can see myself doing the mclaren once I get used to it since i've already gone faster than that in the Zonda, that F40 time is close to 10 seconds faster than my average lap and that's on a short track that really isn't to difficult, the event is broken, just like the mclaren one is for me, the drifts even had framerate drops on a scale I have not seen since PS2. Seems i'm sadly finding a broken part of each special event I actually enjoy.

Just so them fanboys don't start whinging about my definition of broken, check this out....

Guess that's just driving physics:eek::eek::eek: that I am too amateur to control in some peoples' opinions:oops:. Has happened to me 3 out of 5 times so far, anytime I don't heavily brake before this flying corner it happens pretty much. Fix it Kunos.

The fact that I can easily get Gold in some and struggle to bronze others proves my point. Besides, you cannot compare the PC times with console ones as the build is different and the tyre model is an older version. I did exactly the same line, actually, I was better at it on the M4 and yet my time is still 1 second off.

Then again @Graveltrap did gold two I struggle with. Are you using a wheel or a controller? If the latter could you share the settings please?

That also happened to me plenty of times but then again you need to brake otherwise you will not make it. The game detects a collision with the back of the car and sends it flying off. Just a little problem, the driving physics are fine.

I use a steering wheel. If you could upload a run with the M4 maybe I can maybe help you get a better lap time. Obviously I need to see the in game steering wheel if it require setup tweak.

Trust me that was taking it easy, you can hear the motor is not close to peak rpm and I tried it numerous times slowing down a little more each time. I'm well below the capable speed of this corner in 5th gear and this car could get through it powering in 5th if that glitch didn't happen everytime I try to take it at a comfortable fast pace. There's a couple other ones i'm gathering as I go now to keep a record of what is a real issue with the game as opposed to what's missing from the game.

Slowdown for Flugplatz, I approach it flat in 5th gear on the limiter , the P1 is doing 161mph! Nudge the brakes tbefore the crest To loose 5/10mph and it will just sail over...

Whilst what is happening in the clip does look odd, the nose should lift (in fact the car will be airborne) but the kick in the tail strange. That is what is causing the nasty landing and crash.

@AntonioR I use a wheel, which no doubt makes life easier ;)

I don't have access to the M4 so can't do that event :(

The F40 is the toughest of all I think, (It should be shouldn't it?) but I will keep on having a go and learn from my mistakes, first target is to get bronze
To do that I need to learn about brakes without ABS in Assetto Corsa...

My driving technique is not the issue, the freak out in the physics are. This video wasn't even a fast lap, I just tried to match the 6:47 time of the real video. Like stated, I've replicated this multiple times at speeds I know the P1 can take it and at least 50% of the time that glitch happens in the Mclaren. Never happened in the Zonda R from memory but it only took me about two or three attempts to get this run in with that car. This error cannot be justified with 'slow down'. It's not like an experienced eye can't tell i'm clearly going slow enough in that Mclaren clip to hold that corners' line.

    @MrDeap

I just checked the M4 Hotlap challenge and the time needed for gold on the Xbox One is 1:37:500
That is 6 seconds faster than the lap in your video.

It was on the older tire model I suppose. The racing line should be similar. I should try it again with the M4. It's 1:38.500 tp get Gold on PC currently with the most recent tire model.

I did this one yesterday with the F40.

@MrDeep The F40 video is interesting, from a gear usage point of view, I am using 2nd quiet a bit more, I shall try leaving it in third. You only got a bronze on console btw, gold is 1:56.500

I don't expect to be fast in a modified F40 I'd expect it to throw me off the track at every opportunity which is what happens most of the time in game! I did make bronze myself today, next target is a 1:58...

@L2D Godzilla Whilst slowing down might not be the solution you are looking for, it works 100 percent of the time. I'd suggest making a bug report thread and posting videos there, it will get lost in here...

    Here is my lap in the M4 - 1:41:459 - http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/II AntR II/video/21505572
It was done in a controller. The Gold is 1:37:5

I can probably polish the lap a bit and remove1 second but I´m still around 3 seconds off. Unless there is a turbo boost button I dont see I can do it honestly.

I can tell just from watching that the car is much tamer on pc. We pretty much can't touch second to keep the speed up but if I try and brake at the points you do it's a trip into the sand usually. I think there's a big difference in the pc tyre model and console version at this point but like Gravel said 1:56 is gold so yeah, imagine another 3 secs off your time basically. May I ask why your tyre flashed when you went offtrack at the end? Did you get a puncture? I'm yet to see anything as abrupt as that, we can blow our tyres on console just not without exccessive wearing ie: burnouts and it looks like yours acts much more realistic.

I think its a flat spot?

  19. MrDeap

    MrDeap Hardcore Simmer

There's no puncture, but you can get a flat spot. That one was a warning I damaged the tire a bit. If it get a flat spot, it will still flash while driving.

It's a unlisted video on youtube, sharing the different tire model. It is definitely different for sure. Although you can tell the driving experience remain similar which is a good thing.

I am also having problems with the Pro Attitude Time Attack (Tattus on Vallelunga).

It seems they put the times according to the newest tire model and forgot that they were using the old one?
