1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Anybody agree with me that VR is a huge advantage?

If you compare a bad TV with input lag (50ms+) to a good 60hz screen with 0ms input lag the difference can be already quite noticeable. Increasing refresh rate further will show diminishing returns.
I think it is correct to say that most of sim racers use consumer wheels that doesn't have instant torque response and slow turn rate which probably ruins drifting even more.
When I am racing/hot lapping (not drifting) I merely use visual cues to keep the car under control instead I use FFB and tire sounds for that.

A 60 hz monitor with 0 ms time response doesnt exist.

Input lag is often reffered as signal processing time. While overall display lag = signal processing + response time. There are LCD screens that have nearly 0 input lag (below 1ms) however they have at least some G2G response time. Also there are refresh rates.

That's a big stretch. 60Hz by 10 meters would mean 600 m/s car speed. Nearly 2 Machs. No vehicle in this game travels that fast, it's not DCS or some other flight sim.
It could be that bad only if that 60Hz monitor you were using had an enormous input lag, like 100+ ms

I agree with you that higher refresh rate is better for driving sims. Comparing 144hz to 60hz is huge. Comparing 144hz to 90hz is not. Especially when you are locked at 90fps in VR anyways. I had triple screens running at 144hz each before VR. I’ll never go back to screens for sim racing.

So by going from my monitors to Oculus I'm at a disadvantage? Not noticed it myself, maybe the depth perception makes up for it?

When comparing VR(90hz) to 144hz screen you are comparing ~11ms vs ~7ms delay between frames.

I can only talk about my experience in both. VR is better in several points and ultimately I'm faster in it.

I had to stop VR for a few weeks and been using triples. Got back to VR a couple of days ago and even not being able to stand it just yet I'm simply faster that way.
