Simracing in Slowmotion

I just thought that slowmotion in simracing is very special thing, in slowmotion you can understand what is going on better, also it is very nice. maybe we could manage to discover and understand something about Assetto Corsa and other simulators through slowmotion videos. Find advantages and disadvantages. Discuss them, perhaps even find real life matching slowmotion examples.

I understand that other simulators might have advantages over AC because of visuals like tire deformations, maybe chassis flex visually, and more precise visual suspension representation.

Not a new video, but awesome. I find AC in slow-motion mesmerizing.

@Sleeper Service This is about slow motion, and about discussion, and not only about AC. I think slowmotion is very good tool to observe physics.

The thread you have pointed is total different thing. It is just another instagram thing, where people just drops their stuff for attention, to be noticed. But no one really talks about anything.

So whats the problem ?

I guess I'm just a failure at starting such discussions. You can really tell a lot about how cars work through slowmotion, but I suppose this is too abstract. I really think that AC is not the most realistic visually, I think that physical car movements aren't represented too precisely through suspension animations, feels somehow limited, maybe car wheels are too much depending on each other, I really don't know. No tire deformations also is very important in this subject. It also might be that some cars are better than others.

I wonder if anyone would be interested and capable in doing slowmo comparisons.

 

I guess what you need then are some comparative slo mo videos of real cars and AC.

compared with a similar shot taken in AC. So what you'd be looking for in AC is that the wheel reacts to the bump followed by the car body a short time after, if the video above is to be believed

I think we already know that tyre deformation is modelled to some degree but not visually represented in AC, correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes in AC there really aren't visual tire deformations, I think it has been stated that physical wheel does deform, so it really isn't piece of hard plastic

But visually it is important. But it doesn't mean that observing cars of AC in slowmotion is pointless. Unless the physical suspension movements and visual movements are too different.
