1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Welcome to the thread for the Weekly Hotlap #84 : Warm-up for the 24h
    The Challenge.

    Car: Audi R18 e-tron quattro 2014
    Track: Highlands Long

    ambos.jpg
    carro.jpg

The big racing event of the year, the 24h of Le Mans,is approaching.Last year, when Graveltrap was the host of the WHL,we had a very nice challenge in honor to that legendary race, the Corvette Stingray at Monza.I thought it would be nice to do something similar to try to recreat the atmosphere of the french race, and what better to try out the last race winner from one of the most charismatic (and sucessfull) manufacters in the history of Le Mans?
I know,i know,it wasn't long ago that we had an hybrid LMP1 - just four weeks ago,i know. The thing is,the Audi is,in my humble opinion, the most fun of the pack - easier to drive and it's got the better looks aswell :p.
The 2014 version wasn't the most sucessfull and overall lost the WEC title, but it did win at Le Mans and it's well remebered for that. The fierce competition from Toyota and the entry from Porsche took away some of the R18 shine but nevertheless it's still a vehicle that imposes respect.
By now you all the drill. The e-tron comes with a diesel engine and an eletric one fed by a KERS system that does it's magic when the cars reaches speeds above 120km/h.

    pista.jpg
Again, a bit of repetition. It wasnt that long ago that we had Highlands Long, but since that we don't have La Sarthe circuit (oh,how many post and threads were made requesting the mythical french circuit?almost as much as the R18 bhp!),Highlands long is the closest we have:long straights and flowing turns,a bit like the Porsche curves. This combo is the closest thing we have to recreate the 24h Le Mans.
Cornering speeds will be very high, and saving energy for the 3km straight is a must. This car has an electric engine, but this is a high octane challenge :)

    The Rules.
    Mode: Hotlap
    Time of day: Free
    Ambient Temp: 26 Degrees
    Setup: Free
    Controller: Free
    Assists: Factory
    Stability: Free

If it isn't mentioned here then assume the setting is free.

Please make sure you have the ambient temperature set correctly, and that you are in hotlap mode, I really don't like disallowing times!

    The Deadline.
    Sunday May 17th 2018 - 22:00 GMT.

    How to take part!
To enter simply head into the game select Drive > Hotlap and choose the Audi R18 e-tron quattro 2014 and head to Highlands Long. Make sure you setup the session using the settings detailed in this thread and hit the track!

You can run as many laps as you like and update your times as often as you like, its simple :) All Platforms are welcome, it is all about having fun and enjoying Assetto Corsa.

To submit a time, pause the game and select 'session' from the menu and screenshot this page or take a photo of your screen and post it in this thread - Note all the information from the screen is required including temperature, mode heading and of course the car being used!

Feel free to post video clips and share information in here as well, but without the session screen your time will not be included (placing the session screen in a video clip is acceptable).

You also need to state the time and your platform in the body of your post, this should be the first thing you do, the image should then be placed below the text. It would also be helpful to mark updated times with Improvement. This makes collating the results much easier. Also,to avoid mistakes on laptimes, please enter them with the format x.xx.xxx. This format makes it easier to work with Excell.
A leader board will be collated from time to time, this will keep everyone up to date on where they currently stand...Unfortunately editing of posts gets locked on this forum so this post will not be updated.

Feel free to use the unofficial leaderboard but remember you still need to include the session screen in this thread to be included in the results.

Good luck and have fun ;)

No idea what I'm doing with that high tech KERS, Hybrid system. I watched that informative Yorkie tutorial published today and hoped I should know how it works?!?! In setup 'hotlap' mode or select another one and deploy it myself on the long straights? I mapped a button to KERS. When pushing on the long straight it turns blue on the virtual wheel but the hybrid remains 100 and it seems nothing happens. I think I have to read the Audi manual (RTFM)

edit: changed from 'hotlap'mode to 'high preserve'.

Brian, I have the ERS set to charging and manually deploy it. I use 20 (whatever the units are) coming out of the hairpin that leads to the straight before the long straight. I use 50-55 on the exit to the long straight. I use a small amount on the exit of the right-hander after the long straight. I use a small amount on the exit of the right-hander after the second checkpoint. Depending how much I have left I might use a small amount on the uphill section, but I always save some for the final corner. I do this not so much for the boost to acceleration, but because of the extra traction from 4wd.

Edit: Regarding no deployment on the long straight - In hotlap and high preserve, you've probably used all of your ERS allowance before the long straight. On console there is a yellow bar that fills to indicate how much you can use each lap. The green bar shows how much you have available. Once the yellow bar is full you can't use any more until the next lap.

So far it's a one man show: the3ws went god-mode and it's 5 (!!!) seconds faster than second place, being the only driver bellow the 3m mark,an achievment i didn't think it would be possible to be honest. If 2.57 wasnt such a slow time at the regular Highlands i would think that he was the wrong track!

Anything bellow 3.10 is a very respectable time,so congrats to the 7 drivers on board! :)

Still fumbling in the dark on the setup. Am starting to think that the power curve for this car falls away waaaaay before the red line, but I haven't tried to measure it yet. This thing has so much grip - I keep managing to get faster and faster through the corners.
Looking at the inconsistency of my sectors, I reckon I still have another second or more to find, but I suspect @the3ws will be another second or two ahead by the time I find it! :D
