1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

What's your normal pace?

I've been driving around the track on ACC for a while now and am wondering, what is the normal pace out there? Am on a average lap time around the track on 01.58.X
And just to get an idea of what time I should adjust my time too for competition In the future it would be nice to get a little inside information from you guys on what time you have around the track.

Am not asking for best lap time but your average time.

My best is 1.56, so I guess a 1.57 should be the avarange for the practice session on stable setup.
Just try to find a bit more time arround some corners, experiment, and practice, and you'll be fine.
General advice is to try and keep as much speed arround the corners as you can, at slow corners slow in, fast out, late braking with trail braking, and on fast speed corners try to use a bit of the kerbs and maintain as much speed as possible.
Obviosly, in the corners you fell like they are easy, there you loose most of the time.

I decided to work on my consistency for this title, one lap pace is good, but if you don't have consistency you'r screwd in the race.

Alien drivers are like robots, they can do the same lap over lap, like machines. So I guess you need to train your brain to do that.

Feel you, it's no problem for me to understand where I go wrong it's just that I need to learn how to be calm and not be so twitchy on the track because I usually end up spinning out or hit the curbs so hard that my rear takes lift of...
I have found the right driving line and all but I just can't maintain good consistency. But like you said, practise, practise, practise and I'll get to know the car good enough to be better to adjust it..

Would be so great if the learning curve wasent so slow.. hah :D

    Hi guys,

It’s important that if you mention your time that you say in what conditions you have done it.
    In practice or in hotlap.
Makes a big difference since on hotlapping there is a lot of rubber on the track.

My average is 1:58 in hotlap with the safe setup.
    Will try to improve tomorrow.

About the same... usually in the 1:56's to 1:55's. PB a 1:55:5 something. I'm usually pretty consistent, so, lap times will maybe vary 0,5 to 0,7 second, max.

I'm better in the race than on a hotlap though, so, can't wait for that. :D

Oh, and in practive, i'm rather in the high 1:56's.

high 1:58's in hotlap mode (1:57.8 personal best)
In practice mode constant 1:59-2:00:2 But if feel like im just learning myself bad habits at this point and cant seem to improve
Started to go from scratch start slower and speed up every lap but at a certain point i just seem to lose time (even when im not understeering past my line)

In ACC so far 2:00-2:01... vs 1:58s I was able to do in AC and 1:53-1:54 Blancpain GT drivers do IRL. :(

Skills, setup, setup skills, too much time at hand, and probably taking every bit of track, and beyond. I noticed that you can cut a lot in some places. So, you can be sure the alien times are done with a lot of "cutting" as well. Fair enough, same for everyone.

I used to think such times can't be true as well, but, when you actually race against some of those guys, you realize that they're simply better than you.

I'm still breaking a sweat to lower my laptimes below 1:59. My average us 1:59 high... I'd really love to see some tutorial videos on how to improve

I'm somewhere in 2:03-2:04. In practice with the default fuel load. I also hate the Mercedes Arena section like the plague:D Can't seem to find my way around it in any sensible manner. That's probably where I lose most time.

Just wait until the multiplayer releases! :)
Then you can have someone to drive around with on the track and explain you better :p
That's what helped me out when I first started with Simracing and a lot of youtube watching

The problem come down that you are probably playing the game wrong. That is the reason why it seem impossible to achieve. You have to look outside planet earth physic, no games use real physic calculation. :p

Games use a simplified version of getting similar result which is what simulation is about.

Just watch a lot of gameplay run close to WR time or the WR time. Put in mind that every simulator have picky inputs or overly forgiving in some way. Once you understand for the most part, you will know when & how to insert those inputs to get result.

It's early access, the end game physic can change a lot, especially when there's not a lot of car to retain parity, if you use common sense about multiplayer gameplay. Even the best simulator is not perfect.

    Hi all.
I’ve only just downloaded this and have done around 10 laps but seem to be doing steady 1:57-1:58 times.
I’ve been playing PC2 in VR for the last year so i’m struggling trying to play on a monitor again, roll on the 10th.
