1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

For all VR users, try Virtual Desktop!!

  1. Hi guys, I guess that everyone who has virtual reality has a hard time adapting to playing with a monitor.
I encourage you to run the game through virtual desktop, I have been doing some tests and the result is like night and day!

You can select the size of the screen and adjust the fov inside the game.

Obviously the immersion is not total, but it improves a lot.

I leave a screenshot of the configuration that I am currently testing. For me, it is much more immersive than playing on my 27 "monitor. The sensations are very good.

At the moment it is one of the few alternatives until they implement the support for VR

Virtual Desktop is a must-have for VR, yes. But we get full VR in just 4 weeks or so.

Nice workaround, think I’ll wait though, just way to use to VR now for anything else

It’s a paid app, literally called “virtual desktop” you can get it either on the steam store or the Oculus store, I have used it a fair bit, it’s prety handy and certainly very cool to play with

BigScreen is free on steam and does essentially the same thing as Virtual Desktop, personally I'll just wait.

Well you won't know unless you try it, I find it perfectly fine for what it offers, main thing it's free so at least you can see what it does for nothing. Then if you need a bit more virtual desktop is a couple of pints later, nice.

I totally agree with the original post about struggling to play on a monitor after VR. I've been playing PC2 for the last year and a bit only in VR and trying to switch back to a monitor for this is hard, roll on the 10th as this looks like it might be my go to sim in the future.

I just bought Virtual Desktop after reading this thread. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. The desktop part itself is pretty nice but to play games on - na, your just kidding yourself.

I'm really struggling to play on a monitor also but Virtual Desktop just don't cut it for me. Looking into Vorpx today, will report back so you guys don't have to pay if it's also s h i t .

It does work ok. Don't use the home theatre though, I use nebulae with the 100% curved screen + max FOV in ACC and the seat as far forward as it will go. It's a good workaround for now.

What didn't work was oculus desktop, frame rate was awful.

I would only use Vorpx if you have a cast iron stomach and a head made of stone. I had to take 3 days off work after trying GTAV for only a few hours, it dislodged the crystals in my inner ear and everything was lop sided. Heres a link

WTF!!!!! Really???? That's some pretty hardcore VR sickness right there.

Unfortunately I don't have a cast iron stomach or a stone head. In fact I'm the exact opposite. I also work at heights so I'm going to leave Vorpx alone after reading your post Ozzy. Really appreciate you posting the warning.

No worries Alex, I have never used it since and haven't had any problems, as long as i use native oculus supported games it's fine, but it was worrying, i had to do head tilting exercises to reset them.

Don't know why i didn't think of this i guess i just thought it would be too heavy on resources. I try the game enough for now any way so can wait for the proper vr support. I expect vr will barely run though.

Getting VD just for playing ACC with a VR headset in fake VR right now, is pointless, do not spend money for this. understand that VD is not meant for that, but to be able to operate your desktop and comouter with VR headset on. Browsing, youtubing being the obvious purposes it was designed for. And that it does damn well. Its also okay to use software with a VR headset on (big screen before your eyes) that runs in a simple window and is no specialised game content. A chess software for example. Whether you must want to do so, must see a need to do so, is something else, I only say that it works well for that purpose, too. Games, however - I used this solution with VD once to try The Hunter Classic in it, and when walking around I got nausea in no time - the gameplay and movement simply is not optimised for VR, and it shows. Usually I am invulnerable to nausea in VR.

VR works best when the software running indeed is optimised for being used with VR.

360° videos at youtube are great in Virtual Desktop, too. I have been in so many places and enjoyed my short holiday trips, there is quite some content from tourism promotion programs. Its like animated Google Streetview for VR. I love my VR and Google Earth/Streetview.

Driving on flat screen is really dull when you are use to VR, no doubt, forget about using VD or any gimmick, it is not working.
What is working for me, as a way to be able to enjoy ACC until we have VR support, to get use to the settings, set the wheel, etc..., is to lower the FOV and get close to windshield, in helmet view is the best for me.
At least with the low FOV, I get back some of the depth perception and feel more like I am in the car, not even close to what VR give us but makes it bearable until the day.

Hello, I have a couple of question before I purchase...
I use Oculus, my friend and co-driver can not (unless I want to have the mop and bucket on standby). In a certain other game (*cough PC2) what I do is pit in, get out of the seat, put the Oculus headset down and press a button on the keyboard that realigns the view, this makes the TV screen correct to the driving position and he uses the TV.

Can I do this in ACC?
    Thanks.
