1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

What ghost do I drive against when I set exactly the same time?

When I drive the exact time in the hotlap event, do I drive against my last time set or the first time set?

Pretty easy question to understand. If you match your best time is the ghost then your new best lap or the previous best lap of the same time? Might have taken a different line to match your own best time.

I don't know a real answer, but I would guess, that only a new record and ghost will be created if you beat your record. If you really manage to hit the same time, then you didn't beat your PB.
Another question is, if the time resolution is a bit higher than 3 fractional digits ...
So maybe a 1:33.2862 is rounded the same as a 1:33.2864, but 1:33.2862 is faster, so would be technically a new ghost.

Just my 2 cents, I don't know the truth

I believe @dermonty to be right, but why is this important?

If you drive same lap time you already set it is not PB and you are driving against the ghost from your PB time

Why isn’t it important? When I have the exact same time set with 2 different setups for example I wanna know if I’m driving against the ghost with Setup A or Setup B. I wanna know if I drive against the ghost that had a good sector 1 but mediocre sector 2 and 3 or if I’m driving against the ghost that had bad sector 1 and very good sector 2 and 3.

Unless you're doing something wrong, you shouldn't even see your ghost car. Even better: turn it off and just use the delta timer.

Not to highjack thread but I been confused about the ghost as well. Using the delta timer and even beating my PB the ghost always seems to be in front of me. Is this by design I assume so you can see how you achieve the last PB?

I think the ghost always defaults to your last PB time no matter how good or bad each sector was unless my confusion above shows the ghost for each best corner?! I’m so confused!

I do believe this be best as the ghost can be distracting but I can see why one may want to toggle it from time to time...
