I went for broke with this one. Should arrive in 8 days or so!

I enjoyed PSVR much more than the Rift I have now, but my only doubt is the IPD adjustment being only 63mm on the low side. I'm 59.5!

 

Initial quick feedback.
SDE is gone, but now you can see artifacts from low resolution, aliasing, flickering shadows etc.
So if you expect nice clean monitor like picture, this is not going to cut it.
Another positive thing is that glare is significantly reduced, either due to the screen or lenses but tarmac reflection does not blind me like before, I can still see road texture and there was one RSS car, Ferrari 575 GTC, I just couldn't drive it before due to offensive combination of super bright white driver suit and bright yellow windshield trim. Now it's like 95% better, no more squinting.
And xfab4 shaders during daylight work really well, without SDE you can clearly see their higher fidelity and better shadows.
Coming from original Odyssey I was upset with ergonomic at first, but seems that after some break in, adjustment and getting used to, it's not that bad, headset feels much lighter than original. Hopefully VRCover will come with some replacement padding as stock one can leak a bit of external light in, esp if you are skinny faced.
Sweet spot is a bit larger too, or feels that way, perhaps because lenses are closer to the eyes now.

Not a giant leap by any means but will serve fine until something better comes around.

We need more resolution, anti SDE alone is not gonna fix it.

Do you still have both the original and the plus? could you compare if the lens structure is the same? to check if prescription lenses bought for the original also fit the plus!

 

No more original, but they look the same. Check reddit, pretty sure someone said they are compatible there.

 

Would it be ok If I asked you how much the lens measure on your odyssey? red and blue distances

Are you enjoying the plus so far? some people are giving compliments to the screen but are still returning them for some reason.

 

I've found comfort questionable comparing to the original one, no idea why they redesigned that part. Hope aftermarket covers will catch up.

Yeah, its a standard issue for Australian's, I cry sometimes when I see how cheap the big TV's are over there compared to our prices

Now that you have had it for a while what’s your impressions? Have you tried ACC with it? Tempted with the he Black Friday sale to see if I can get it to Australia.

 

Im interested in the old version and getting it to Australia also, as the new one will hit my nose if I'm to understand the reviews I've seen so if you figure out how to get them to Oz at a reasonable price please let me know if you.

 

Friend of mine uses a service called Shipito
Apparently prety good, total would work out to be about $490 AUD delivered from what I can gather

 

V1 or plus ? Price sounds pretty good !
