1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

What's your normal pace?

I have not done any setup work so my best is 2:02 in dry and 2:14 in stormy conditions.

  7. With the newest update and altering my approach I have managed a 1:57.009. More work ahead!

In hotlapping my fastest was a 1:54:21 with my own setup. But no matter what I change on it I can't really get under that. So I decided to try the aggressive one and see what the difference would be ( only change ABS, TC, fuel and BB ). After a few laps I got down to 1:54:22. Did the same with the stable one and got a 1:54:26.
So the defaults setups seem good enough

Reading about what the normal pace of some people here is boggles my mind. Faster than top qualifying times of the real cars and race pace isn't anywhere near that.

  11. Q in real life isn't done on a fully rubbered in track with perfect tires, no fuel, unlimited tries, and nfg about wrecking the car.

1:55.5xx is my pb so far with a setup from the internet. Most of my laps are in the 56's.
Low 58's with an occasional high 57 is what I am running in the 35 minute challenge at night using the default setup.

And I am right foot braking.

On one hand I am thrilled that I have dropped my lap times from 58's down to 55's in only a week or so, but on the other hand I have seemingly hit a wall and yet still 3+ seconds off the pace. Think I am going to go punch my Mom in the mouth for having the nerve to be human.

exactly.. .. we have absolute optimal conditions... constant... and tires are refreshed everylap to an optimum (at least in hotlap mode) .. so we can run lap after lap after lap after lap.. with finding exact same conditions.. without breaking the flow... so we can get into an absolute repetetive machine state.. where we can perfectionate our laps more and more and more since the conditions always stay the exact same... and if we try something that didn't worked out.. well next lap then.. or just hit esc and restart..

and that also helps with setup... when you are getting into this realy consistend pace.... you can realy work on the setup... for example yesterday .. I refined my base setup that I developed now over the last few days.... and was driving and driving and driving... till I just couldn't get any faster... where I could hit that time every lap within a tenth... then I made just two clicks softer bump dampening... and it was like driving a total differend car.. with which I then broke my pb.. and drove a 1.54.1 .. but I was too eager to change more on the setup then without getting into that state again... I thought.. ok well if this works.. then try this and that and so on... ofcourse I should have take more time.. to get into the consistency first again.. before I do all those changes again... but I am quiet confident to breach the barrier and get into the high 1.53s soon.. however... 1.52s like the top of the leaderboard is running... is still a miracle for me... I just can't imagine.. how that should be possible... but well... it is always like that... at the beginning when I was running 1.58s I also thought wtf.. how is 1.55 possible... I soon drove into the 1.56s ... but then thought how is 1.54 or high 1.53s possible?! .. well now I am in that region myself... at the moment I can't imagine.. that there will be low 1.53s or even the 1.52 region possible for me... the faster you go the bigger seems that gap ...

but it is always the same... you get to this wall.. and it feels like you can't go any faster... and you have no idea how... and getting close to this wall is already realy hard work all the time... then there comes this moment.. where you finally breach it... and suddenly it doesn't feel as hard as before and it feels usual to drive that pace... and then the next wall comes and so on :) for me this walls are usually in 0.5 second ranges... but they get tighter the faster you get... at some pace the will become 0.3 seconds ranges.. then 0.2 then 0.1 and so on... but your consistency usually also do this steps with you

ABS and TC to 6 - pedal to the metal on corner exit much more easy for me - 1.56.7 :)
and not a lot of laps with this setup. 20 or so.
think there is low 1.56 doable for me.
a lot of driving issues but setup now is becoming more important. will start to fiddle around with the parameters.
first test with front arb from 5 to 2 was not good. not so snappy but more sliding.o_O
And still - so much fun, so motivitaing leaderboard.:)

I'm talking about "normal pace", which this thread is about, not one-off laps. Which to me also kind of implies driving in the hotstint events or race? Still fairly static but less so than the hotlap event. If someone seriously can do 1:52s all day long in hotstint then hats off to their driving ability and endurance, but it's not realistic. But we'll see what happens when less static conditions get implemented and as development progresses.
