1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

1.03 Controller Settings

I thought I'd share my control settings for PS4 Dual Shock for anyone still struggling with the new algorithms in update 1.03. I did all my testing on Monza because it has a couple of tough chicanes which really show up problems with your steering if you've set it too slow and smooth. You can get you controls feeling really lovely and progressive then find they are way too slow to negotiate the first chicane on Monza.

Possibly could be slightly quicker steering in the chicanes, but I think this is a nice balance. Even the F40 feels tamer now.

    Cars tested: 458 Italia S3, M3 E30 Gr A 92, 2 Eleven GT4, Exos 125, F40 S3, F40.
    Assists: Factory only.

    Controls:

    Speed Sensitivity: 20%
    Steering Speed: 15%
    Deadzone: 5%
    Filter: 40%
    Gamma: 3.5

I went the other way on this one but putting it here in case folks want to try it out as well. I want my car to snap a bit so I can catch it better. (Works wonders on understeery and 4WD cars. My CURRENT settings are:

    Speed Sensitivity 35%
    Steering Speed 25%
    Deadzone 10%
    Filter 60%
    Gamma 2.4

EDIT: Assists-> TC & ABS Factory, Stability 0%

Thats a high Gamma setting? Does your steering not feel slow to react at 3.5 ?

3.5 is way too high for me, you just get way too much steering lag.

My original settings were ok, although the gamma setting has changed, I put it to 2.2 and my settings are now pretty much the same as before the patch

Not finding the high gamma an issue. The default by the way is 3.0. Filter is the biggest cause of steering lag. Anything above 40 was too slow for me. Obviously filter and gamma react to each other, but I found a higher filter just slowed the steering speed too much in chicanes and added too much lag. Try turning down that filter you have at 60 and you'll find the speed ramps up. Gamma shouldn't impact steering lag, it rather impacts how progressive the steering is.

edit: I tried reducing the gamma to 2.8 (peer pressure :D). I am definitely faster like that, though I do feel like the car has more propensity to get out of control when things start to go pear shaped. I don't believe there's any less lag, rather it's just more sensitive in the inital part of the travel. I'll leave it like this for a bit. I do maintain that anything above 40 on the filter is too slow and laggy though, certainly 60 feels wrong. But hey, we are all different. No definitive right and wrong. I know that I liked danowats settings before, but slowed down just a touch.

Except for filter:).. Havnt tried so much with deadzone cant really tell the difference.. Is it that there is no input when you first move the stick or at the end of the movement?

The settings which are working best for me are these:

    Steering Sensitivity 25%
    Steering Speed 100%
    Deadzone 5%
    Gamma 2.2

Now I dunno why, but the deadzone setting is broken after the latest update. But with the limited virtual steering wheel (to 360), they still feel pretty neat. I hope that they will fix the issue asap :/

It amazes me that since I wrote this guide > http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=238659280 < these setting still do rock :D hehe

Sofar, I haven't noticed it on PS4 since I'm always keeping it around 2-5%, but fact is, the deadzone was always working correctly on PC with a controller ...

Can't comment on pc but for me and a few others I know deadzone on the ps4 has never worked.
