1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

1:48s at Hungaroring: does that make me slow?

Thanks, I'll give that a go.

Thanks but what are you specifically suggesting? I have always had trouble with longer corners such as T5 (like at Tsukuba or Fuji). I typically try to use the brakes to load the front tires to get the grip to turn but that doesn't really help in longer corners. I end up in an in between state where I am going slow but if I add more throttle I induce understeer. I've been attempting to trail brake more into T5 so I can go off the brakes later and gain more grip at exit with varying degrees of success.

  3. If I'm going for all out pace I found the biggest help for me in turns 8 and 11 is to put my front right wheel in the grass trying to straighten up the exit. It lets me get on the gas really early and since my front wheel isn't on the curb it won't spin me.
Turn 5 trail brake deep into it while holding apex (don't touch the curb!), coast for a little before getting hard on the gas. Don't run wide on turn 5 exit, there are many bumps and a tight exit line is faster as well.
Oh, and weight transfer is key through sector 2!

I can run high 1:45s - low 1:46s in hotlap mode consistently (with the 911 or 488), can reach 1:44 if I'm lucky. The lambo is also really fast at the track despite having to hold back a lot through sector 2.

Thanks again everyone. I got my best down to 1:45.87 and getting more consistent low 1:46s. I think I'll give it a rest for now.

You should only tap the brakes to bring the front in, but very gentle tap. If you brake slightly more than necessary, than you’ll bleed a lot of speed (talking about 4-6km/h)and need to compensate by giving more gas than necessary during corner, which translates to understeer.

With a slight tap, you must manage your corner speed much more, with 0 to 2-3%throttle at most, preferable at 0, baby sitting the car during the corner with as little wheel input as necessary, no corrections, full gas when you get the grip and trajectory set.

If you struggle to adjust your driving style and want to see if changing car setup helps :

If you suffer from mid corner to exit understeer when you touch the throttle you can try this
    Adding front slow rebound
    Adding rear slow bump
This will slow down weight transfer to the rear.

    A bigger change would be
    Add rear antiroll bar
    Add rear spring
This works if you don't have any corner entry understeer and already have a fairly well balanced car
