Depends very much on the trackselection. Our Leage slightly favours the AMGs for example.
You have to look at the whole calender.

This is also why I prefer joining random track CP races. If you know the track in advance you will likely see the same car for half of the field.

When looking at the AM SRO event i was wondering what will happen if they rebalance the Porsche. Wouldnt the Audi be the solo top car then?

That argument is weak in my opinion and you actually proved the point by stating that your league favours ONE car.
Altough yes different tracks will favour diff cars, the cars that are favoured by each kind of track are always the same and if you run a league with ALL tracks in game, you will see that at the end of the day, a car like the Porsche has the edge.

I'm sorry but don't tell me that it's a coincidence that that is a trend for high-end leagues for the Porsche 2019 to be consistencly the top picked car, if BoP was perfect then it wasn't the case because we can agree the Porsche is one of the most difficult cars to drive due to tendency for snap oversteer going off-throttle and is also not the most powerful of cars (thank god!) so should have an handicap on power tracks: but even with this Cons, it's still heavily favoured due to just being a car that anyone without setup knowledge can be very very competitive.

    In defence of porsche BoP
1.The car has smallest NA engine with lowest torque output.Hence the ballast and restrictor is not as punishing.

2.It does NOT have downforce level of top car(mercedes, ferrari, audi etc) so it needs to run wing on every track to be stable.

3.Thanks to its weight distribution the rear tyre wear is extremely fast making it very tricky car to drive even in short sprint race while other big front engine cars can do nearly same or even faster times without risk of spinning out with very good tyre wear.

    4. Thanks to restricted tyre dimensions the porsche along with lamborghini are hit the hardest meaning they have to make compromises in setup which cost cornering speed.

    Edit: few bonus points

•Fuel tank is as front which changes the balance throughout the stint (PLUS 9k RPM has quite high fuel consumption)

•High drag setup is required meaning you are definitely ****ed on straight line MEANING you have to lead for entire lap gaining speeds in cornering...which is the most difficult part unlike gaining speed on straight.

•Plus as i mentioned above due to tyre restrictions the speed difference in mid corners is nearly non existent (i have taken similar speeds with big front engine AMG and i was much faster on straight)

Even still if they were to adjust BoP i would suggest buffing "slow" cars so that they match the top cars.

    That's not the point.

If 80% of the field uses the Porsche/Audi, they will look like the fastest car on nearly every track.
Don't forget, these guys have to qualify for every track in advance so they can choose the car everytime.
In Monza it would be Mercedes only. That's just how it goes.
I'm pretty sure we'd have a very different field when being forced to use one car only.
Furthermore, these races last for just one hour. A lot of cars are balanced out with tirewear and fuel consumption. These are nearly a non factor here.

    SRO AM Races:
    Silverstone: Bentley, Mclaren, Porsche
    Spa: Audi >>>>>everything else
    Nürburgring: Porsche >>>>everything else
    Barcelona: quiet balanced.

You should take into account the insane ballast penalty for the winning car.

Is this in the AM aswell?
    Didn't know that!

Was the case in all SRO races, Audi was only so slow on Nürb because of the ballast and Porsche woudln't have struggled in Barcelona without it.

talking about BOP in SRO AM is a bit pointless, first the qualification was done by hotlaps on tracks where Porsche is strong over one lap and its natural that people are just gonna take the fastest car out there + track selection and their order combined with weird sucess ballast made 4 weird races where on the 1st track Audi is just not that strong while going to the next one (SPA) its the others that get the penalty and they are completly f***ed because Audi is super fast there on its own, then Audi gets ballast and we go to Nurburgring where it would have been very good race but the Audi is f***ed so its just Porsche vs what can others do in the later stages of the race when Porsche has no tyres, then we go to Barca where its clearly the Porsche that should be with ballast but come on, not 52kg that is just a joke, only Savini was top 3 by a miracle while the rest somehow managed to be in the midfield and then completly get destroyed in the race where becasue of ballast you loose every single lap and the margine builds up massively, then your tyres go off quicker and at the end you just have nothing to say and just look at others overtaking you,
yes that way now its the Audi that can pounce back but why cant be just make it more balanced in the first place with more clever qualification format of lets say couple hotstints on different tracks and you have to stick to the only one car, then the diversity would be a lot bigger with more Ferraris Mercs adn Lambos in the mix, and maybe then making special BOP for every race like RLM did for Suzuka, then we would get bunch of cars and more on track action while now we have just one race a train of Porsches that qualified at nurb and barca and they cant overtake each other because its so much harder when its the same car fighting with you and next race its the same old storry with the audi train that qualified at Spa,
Look at some of the leauge races and its not Audi and Porsche train every race, there are so many different cars and mixed up leaderboaerds every race while here it was just the case of qualifying with the fastest car on a given track and we ended up with Audi vs Porsche with them swapping ballast in lets be honest syupid way

Have to say thanks for taking the time to write this. In-game BOP works as intended if people would use it as intended. Success ballast doesn't make sense in a series like this where the cars are already BOPed in a way that certain cars are stronger on certain tracks.

Lol. What a painful read. I feel for you.
I hope they learned something and do a better job at organizing these events in the future.

Regardless, Porsche wasn't as successful in the 2019 season irl as the game portrays it to be. Its strength came from endurance races, they weren't so fast in a single lap in so many tracks as they are in the game.

No clue who (and why!) came up with that weight penalty system in the SRO Esports series. It's absolutely ridiculous. When you would have to balance these cars using 5 to at worst 20kg on each track (or if you have no clue just don't touch it at all) they chose to go berserk and throw around sandbags of weight for places where the cars would already be BoPed in game. Never seen ruling so much out of touch with reality and it really screws the series. One race you are competitive (or totally OP) and the other you battle for P39. We are having 52kg in the mclaren on Kyalami now where its already nowhere near the front. The car needed 10-15kg on the tracks where it won, but it gets 52kg where it already had no chance. I just can't get behind the logic.

What we have now is a title fight where the two front runners can't have a word anymore, because their car is put out of contention. What a storyline for the last race is that supposed to be?

Audi drivers in out SRO AM will know that pain, yes not only the races are screwed for cars with ballast but the championship itself totally loses the point when some just can't do anything :(

lmao adding ballast on already heavy as boat cars !! what are they trying to do ?
They should do the opposite buff the slow cars take their restrictor out little or take out some ballast this way everyone is happy.

  16. I agree with you: this system is unfair.

I suppose the organizers choose this method, because they know there are cars simply faster than others...
Expecially in qualifying and sprint races.

In the end, it depends a lot on the point of view you choose.
    Faster cars are being nerfed.
    Otherwise...

Anyway I think they regretted it already at the end of Silverstone.
But, considering you cannot change the rules during the run, they were forced to continue like this.

Anyway I would not worry too much, this is just the first season, Im sure a lot of thinks will be sorted for the next.

  17. In short.
    Easy win is not allowed

  18. Does it make sense that the Lexus is at least 5 secs slower than the Porsche II at Monza (V1.4.4, same conditions)?
