5 second rule in race ? Damn...no way

I get a 5 sec penalty for this which is so unrealistic and annoying and has no place in PC sims. Just get rid of it ASAP and we pretend it never was a feature. Embarrassingly bad image for a top title.

You can tweak that away in the ini, but the AI is the root of the problem. If the damage modeling was done, then that would have been the end of your race right there, penalty or not.

it is ok when you have finished your megalomania listen to one thing ... no one here wants to take away the rules to cheat, simply asking you to be a faithful simulation of the race, and as you know in reality there is that if you push with two wheels off the track the car slows down to magic, fine.

Is it in to encourage noobs not to cut in preparation for mp??.

 

It should be like:
if you are off the track and don't slow down you get warning. After 3 warnings you get drive-through. But if you slow down off the track, you don't get warning.

They have said this is a temporary measure and will be changed at some point in the future and there is still already 3 pages of crying just in this thread alone. Wow.

If he's not happy with it then why is it there in the first place? seems like a rushed idea gone badly wrong to me.

 

They obviously want something more complex and haven't had time to devote to it...If they had not put anything in to discourage cutting everybody would have lost their minds. (Rightfully so, btw)

It's not the end of the world and it's going to be fixed.....What more is there to say?

 

Precisely the point of my post. The devs are actively responding to our criticisms. Just give it time.

 

I personaly would reduce the penalty to the inside of curves/chicanes and maybe the outside where you turn in and out curves, there with a bit more tolerance then the inside/apex, to prevent advantages from big cuts, at least as long there are no stones like in Silverstone.

Overall you can get a huge advantage, that should be prevent, in future maybe with a better solution.

Anyway, I dont know how it works in real life. You can programm to let the penalty vanish if you touch a other car, if it rams you for example, but you could touch a car and then cut the curve, so a abuse the system.
In RL there are probably people who can judge the situation, but in many cases thats probably hard to programm, to prevent abuses of the system.

 

uumm yeah they are listening but they were unhappy about it BEFORE releasing the update, so that's why I'm questioning why is it there in the first place!
