1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

AC setup with Oculus Rift and Home Theater Projector

    Hello,

Not sure if this is the right place to post this question but hope someone will be able to help. I wasn't able to find any posts on it so here it goes...

Currently, I am enjoying Assetto Corsa on Xbox One connected to a 7.2.4 home theater system with A/V Receiver and a 110" projector. I love the game and audio/video setup but I want to improve it by adding VR. To do that, I plan to ditch the Xbox in lieu of a Gaming PC which I have yet to purchase.
My ultimate plan is to play AC with Oculus Rift but also display picture on the big projection screen for others to see. As far as I understand, Oculus Rift connects to the PC via an HDMI port but so does my Home Theater.

With that said, does anyone know whether such setup is possible? If yes, how can I connect 2 HDMI output devices (Oculus Rift and Projector) to PC and display same content on both? If I understand it correctly, most PCs have only a single HDMI port hence my confusion. Does this mean I need 2 video cards? Will it even work with Assetto Corsa? I would like to fully understand it before I spend $$$ building the PC to handle it...

Appreciate any help I can get.

    Regards,
    Kris

  3. What gpu are you going to run? You will most likely need to look at a display port to HDMI converter to make it happen. An atmos setup with 2 subs makes a nice home theater setup congrats.

Thank you Derrellbiffle. Yes, having dozen of speakers does help to make gameplay more engaging over just a stereo while subs can make the V8 engine sound so much more realistic. Highly recommend investing $$$ into proper sound system as it makes the gameplay so much more realistic...

As far as converters, great suggestion, thank you. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with them and I am not sure if they will degrade audio quality. I want to make sure that any lossless audio is still properly transmitted over the converter. Not sure if that's a valid concern; need to research it some more. Thank you for a recommendation.

I'm curious, would having a dual video cards with dual HDMI ports help? I'm thinking of running a single Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti 11GB although I honestly have no idea if that'll be sufficient.

What your asking is fairly straight forward pc graphics cards have multiple ports its pretty common for people to run more than one monitor. The only problem is new cards have moved on to displayport over hdmi but you can get a convertor.

I've got 2 hdmi port on my 1070.

Just check before bying a card witch and how many vidéo port it had.

    1 hdmi for the rift
    1 hdmi for the projector
+ An other port for an other screen maybe ?

I also can confirm it works great. A couple of weeks ago I bought a gaming PC with a 1080ti GPU which has 1 HDMI, 3 Displayports. I needed an extra cable/converter for Displayport to HDMI because you have to connect the Oculus to the HDMI port. And if you decide to buy a HDMI/DP cable be sure it has at least Displayport1.2 specs. You beamer will be 1080p but for future 4K sources you need at least DP1.2 specs to be UHD ready. Prices of these cables are around €30 (both for 1.1 and 1.2 so be aware to choose the right one).
1080ti is excellent for Oculus VR. You can maximize all settings to high-ultra and also increase the DPI from 1.0 to 1.5 without stuttering. I have an average of 90fps. BUt the price of a 1080ti....insane....

Or use a GPU which has 2 HDMI's. Also have a look at the active Club3D HDMI-Displayport converters. E.g. http://www.club-3d.com/en/detail/2366/displayport_1.2_to_hdmi_2.0_uhd_active_adapter/

Because I always use a headphone I can not confirm all the above mentioned cables/converters etc guarantee losless audio transmission?

    Update on this...
I finalized the gaming PC build, got a VR headset, got a DP-HDMI adapter and it works great. I've bought this one for the record:
    https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812232065

I'm running HDMI cable to AV receiver / projector and VR headset via Display port adapter. Audio is properly routed to receiver as well although I can very easily change it if I want it routed to VR headset as well. I even get Dolby Atmos soundtrack... :)
One small change from initial post is that I ended up with HTC Vive instead of Oculus Rift and so far I'm happy with the purchase.

Thanks again to all that replied.

Does VR work well for you when connecting HDMI to DP? I was told that the VR headset always and only should be connected directly via HDMI?

Other than pretty significant Screen Door Effect, I see no problems. Perhaps the legacy issues which made people think it needs a straight HDMI connections were related to using adapters that don't support proper revision/version of HDMI spec... Guessing here...
