1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Are Sim Racers Gravitating to ACC?

Kunos have the Competition servers, they can experiment with those (as they’re doing now I expect) and monitor player numbers. For me I’d like to see a Sprint server where races happen within an hour e.g. 10 P 15 Q 25 R and an Endurance server with longer races. This is primarily because during the week I have less time available so I’d be more likely to do Sprint races in the evening and an Endurance race at the weekend.

I do also agree that stats of some form would make a big difference, even if it’s just tracking your own performance. There’s little doubt that a sense of progression would only benefit ACC. There were additional tabs under the driver profile during EA that I’m sure indicated something like that, perhaps they’ll return at some point. Even your personal best times are not properly tracked at the moment even though there is a placeholder for them so I’m sure things will change in this area.

I’d also like to see the Special Events hang around and track your progress over time, allowing you to go back and improve once you’re more used to a car or track. I think that would give more incentive to continually try different cars too. Perhaps there are issues around tracking all the data and complications when changes are made to BOP or physics that make this difficult though.

I think what is key for now is to stabilise the game for the 2019 content release at which point I’m sure more players will gravitate towards ACC.

Personally I am not running ACC now because it is borderline unusable for me with my Oculus Rift. The addition of mouse cursor (I think the rotary encoder on my Formula rim is now broken because I had to use its d-pad function so many times navigating the menus) and slight performance improvement has made me able to tolerate the experience, but ACC is not enjoyable for me. When I get into the second event in career mode (rain tutorial) the aliasing of the wiper moving across my face makes me big headache.

Really wish to be able to enjoy the game. I actually just ordered a TV for games like ACC that I can't run in VR. Haven't found an easy way to mount it to my rig yet.

I was really looking forward to spending loads of time in ACC and getting some intense races online, but ACC has actually made me reactivating my iRacing account. While waiting for ACC to be playable in VR for me I have gone from Rookie to A and done two 24 hour races with friends. That is how much game time ACC has lost in my case. I also stopped visiting this forum because I really don't have much to add to the many complaints that some other people have already shared.

Reality is you are running a 5 year old mid range GPU and a 6 year old CPU not designed for gaming, things aren’t going to get a whole lot better sadly

Ah, ok, in that case it’s strange you are having issues, my system isn’t too different to yours, just a bit more GPU and I run in VR fine on all conditions. I have the settings fairly high which naturally locks the frame rate at 45fps at all times, looks fine too me

Would you like to share your settings? I did a quick search on the forum of your posts and didn't see your settings.
My ACC VR performance hunting experience is quite similar to this guy's: https://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/...vr-not-rendering-at-correct-resolution.58341/

Great thoughts from everyone. Perhaps a priority of 1 to 5 of what you need to spend more time in ACC?
    For me:
    1. A progression that culminates the awesome rating system ACC has, online, on mobile tracking.
    2. Clear Roadmap Updates: Thoughts about a year out like Sea of Thieves and Destiny did giving the roadmap and updates weekly on FB live.
    3. More MP. Most of the rooms are empty. So need a way to draw players in.
    4. VR and Tripples for my friends who use that.
    5. Offline way to join races.

    My 2.

The marketing part I meant they did not spent all of that in pure development, and that the scope of those games is much bigger. So ACC budget is obviously smaller but so is their game. Also ACC barely spent anything on market from what I saw.

AC1 already happened, they know how to make a simulator, so in ACC, instead of focusing on their multiplayer and singleplayer parts that were lacking, they focused even more on physics and etc, which is fine if the structure around could support it. So what was the point? Feels more like they made a test software for real racers(would have been fine if advertised like that) than a game to actually grow and have a community.

And unfortunately we have no idea if they plan on improving the career and multiplayer, which means for what it's worth, this is how the game is. When they talked about how multiplayer was going to work, it was obvious this was doa.

I think we may have hyped the game a bit too much leading up to and during the early access phase (unrealistic expectations) and I can confess that I'm guilty of it.

The silence is worrying, but I know that they're still hard at work, but that doesn't make me ignorant to the fact that there's still a lot of problems.

I found this https://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/58766/ and will give that a try tomorrow and who knows,

maybe my experience will improve dramatically, by just tweaking all of my settings manually though .ini files, but I wish we got more options to change our settings in the game.

  12. MakeMeLaugh

    MakeMeLaugh Simracer

Do I really have to explain that?

The fact that they never ever spoke about improving career or multiplayer or anything implies that's how it's going to stay. Obviously I'm not talking about bug fixes but actual improvements like a more engaging career with standings for example.

  13. a more engaging multi... lol... as you intend it is... is so easy to inplement once the base is solid.
and then during ea, there were statistics in drivers page...

By the way do Competition servers still register fake races or is that bug solved? I want to try CP servers so bad but if that bug I still alive I'll stick to normal MP for the moment

This combo works well for me, ASW is on auto but sits at 45.
Not even 100% certain how some of the engine.ini tweaks behave but if it works I dont question it, haha
with a normal GTX1080 I would drop the VR pixel density down to 120 or 130 and see how that goes

and that right there is the problem.

I'm happy for you that playing at 45fps is working well, but for some of us being locked at 45fps is not physically comfortable and just not acceptable, so ACC doesn't get played.

I'll keep hoping that Kunos pull some fixes out of the bag and we can play in VR with decent size grids at 90fps and without the textures/resolution(mirrors!) looking like a game from the early 2000s. Until then I'll be enjoying AC in its VR Glory...

It is summer, i gravitate to my surfboard, motorcycle, bbq, outdoor stuff in general.
Once ACC is settled in september i might repair my wheel and gravitate towards ACC.
By then the wreckerkids, hypetrainsurfers will most likely have lost interest and i am left with some simracers,
which will gather in the most enjoyable servers/communities.

    CU in 12 weeks.

It’s strange as you still SEE 90fps, just every second frame is artificially built so the only real side effect should be some possible visual artefacts. Use to notice this if driving past a fence with vertical poles and as it goes past there we’re tearing in the poles, this seems to be much less of a problem after Oculus’s recent major updates to ASW.

I found the key is to make sure it stays at 45 all the time though as the on and off transition of ASW is noticeable.

As far as “fixes” go, prety certain the only fixes will be in new GPU’s and CPU’s as time goes by, and that’s the way it should be I think, people will chose their own trade offs now and have everything later. Much better option then having lower overall quality now just so it can all be maxed out straight away

I hyped this game so much.
I really love it, but atm I'm playing ac1 and r3e, because my system is to wreak.
    But that's not acc fault.
For multiplayer I have to agree with the other people, but let's wait how the cp server develops.
For iRacing I can say,I don't play it anymore cause I have not enough time during the week and the schedule doesn't fit my free time I have.
Ok, I could train the tracks over the week and race in weekend, but it's boring to dive against the clock.
But when iRacing implement the AI, they are working on one, then I reactivate my subscription. Training against Ai over the week and race against people in weekend.

I think in half a year I have my new high end PC and then I try acc again and look how it develops in this time.
I hope the best for acc, because it's a benchmark in many things, but for me, they have to fix and boost the multiplayer aspect and vr-support
    Just my opinion.

  20. Because indie and small devs have to spend their resources on making the game... again, those companies are playing in a different league. They can spend in marketing as much or even more than what they spend making the game.

Maybe this is the cool thing to say these days, but back 2-3-4 years ago I remember the trend was "Kunos should make a racing game based on one racing series, like GTR2". Now that they did exactly that, people wants something else. I think no matter what they do, some will still complain.
