Hi Aris.

In the last stream (6h END Race) you said if we have any ideas what the topic of your next friday stream could be. I don't use facebook so I'm posting here.

I started simracing last year. So I'm not "new new" but I consider myself still "new" to the hobby. When I started I struggled with chicanes. And I still do. There are a number of chicanes in ACC tracks. And everyone is different. For example on Monza if you don't get the first chicane you can lose up to a second going full speed through Curva Grande. And I still have problems. Especially if there is another car beside me (door to door). And even if I'm on the racing line I will let the other driver go first because I have had numerous situations where we took each other out so I'm skittish going into chicanes with another car beside me.

Can you show us examples of how to approach different chicanes alone and with another car beside (on and off racing line).

So this is my idea which could help "new new" simracers and beginners like me. And now with GT4 cars where you can abuse kerbs like crazy, it could be a good teaching lesson which could/should become timeless. And it would apply across different classes of cars/sims too.

@Matt_SI - chicanes have been a mystery for me for a long time. At Monza i was proud to do 1.57 and saw fast guys with 1.52 and thought - how on earth could i be 5s faster? Then i discovered that aliens did this track in <1.48.
And the fun was gone. They are ~10s faster and i was fighting for my life and cant improve.
Now i can do 1.48 - 1.50 (GT3 ....) and its okay and it is so much fun.
What was my solution?
Watching streams.
Jardier, Aris, Nils, Dookie, CoachDave and much more.
You can learn a lot from the aliens and aris and other simracers. To see what is possible, what the cars are capable to do, where are the tracklimits, what a difference it makes to use every inch of the allowed track, which curbs can you attack, where do they shift, braking points, every little detail helps.
There are tons of good videos available.
Atm i have a lot of fun watching MrGits stream.

Aris, there's a thread "Realistic Seat/View position" and I'd really appreciate your advice on this topic.

 

I connected Steam account but I cannot post in relevant subsection. (You have insufficient privileges to reply here.)

Since yesterday or day before that, I cannot see my ratings and cannot play MP. When I go to my profile it's saying "downloading your profile..." but then in the lower right it says "disconnected." What to do? I did "verify game files integrity" in Steam but I don't know what else to do...

edit: I did delete ACC folder in my documents. I can play the game but no ratings...
