1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Assetto Corsa and several projectors

    Hello all,

Currently I run AC on three 1080p projectors with a 220 degree curved screen. My question is can I use six projectors and use a 300 or 320 degree curved screen to get a larger FOV? I'm trying to get a rear view or as close to a rear view as I can. I want the screen to completely envelop the cockpit so when I turn my head almost all the way around I can see cars coming up behind me.

    Thanks

That seems completely redundant, now VR is here, and 6 projectors? You can have VR for the price of one average projector, and still have superior 3D and immersion.
Have you given AC a try in VR yet?

I understand the need for resolution, but when it's projected, it's not much different than VR.

Trust me when I say I have my reasons. ;)
And yes, I play all the sims in VR as well. My solution however is for a purpose built cockpit that offers several advantages over VR. I know I'll get bashed for that statement but I have extensive testing in this realm.
    So is it possible? Thanks

Just as a test case, can't you plug monitors/tv to emulate the projectors before buying that pricey stuff?

Yes for sure, good point but I don't have that many monitors either. :) Wanted to know what is the theoretical limit of any sim racing game as far as resolution and FOV. How can I find this out?

Does AC even support more than 3 screens? Sure you can always render a very wide aspect ratio screen, but that's not exactly the same as proper triple/multiple screen rendering.
Not sure about curved screens though. Maybe no adaptions are necessary there? In that case, it could work.
    However, I think it's a very ambitious project. ;)

exactly, that's why the full cockpit needs such kind of immersion only projectors could give

I'm sure 300-320 degrees could be attained with just 3 projectors, wide FOV setting in AC and maybe some adjustments in the the projection/curve software. It won't be that pretty though..

Isn't that going to take a very hefty machine to run the whole 360image at all times?

Not sure what gpu's you use but does nvidia surround or whatever amd uses for multi screen work with more then 3 displays?

If it does that should work but you would still need to find a way to render the image properly without distorition which would be the tricky part possibly.

A quick google search came up with this.
    http://www.vioso.com/products_anyblend.php

They have likely got software/hardware you would need. Probably not cheap but I remember reading something about this kind of multi projection setup a while back.

Depends on resolution I guess 6 1920x1080 displays is 12,441,600 pixels while I run 7980x1440 in triple screen setup with 11,491,200 pixels using SLI gtx 1080's and can easily keep min fps above 60, turn down reflection quality 1 notch and this can maintain a min fps of 120.

Its not going to be a budget system that will run this but then 6 projectors, warp/blending software and all other hardware used in this build isn't going to be potato class. :D

Here is a setup running 16 4k displays so I guess anything is possible.

You'd be surprised how pretty it looks. :)
My main point is I need to be able to wrap the screen around the cockpit and want to make sure the game can handle it, I have the hardware to handle it. Dual Titan. If nvidia doesn't support this I will transition to whatever does.

Thanks everyone for helping on this.

i dont think anything else than LFS supports more than 3 monitors/views. AC has only support for three and it's probably going to be messy to try and set it up so that it covers 300 degrees or something. perhaps buy a second computer, spectate the driving car over network and turn the camera around so you can get full 360 ;)

Hmm, AC's triple screen app lets you set the side screens at up to 90 degrees from the first, so you can at least get into the 250-300 degree range. Not really full 360 though.

I haven't tried setting directly and ignoring the app, you might be able to trick it into steeper angles that way.

I was thinking the same thing, probably easiest way to get 360 surround on 6 displays have 2 computers do 180 degrees each. Over local network I dont think latency should be a big issue if the 2nd system is running the back 3 displays but I could be wrong. If its 1080p displays then with 2 titans you could easily run even 3x 1080/1440 off a single titan per pc. Will be better hardware performance then 6 displays in sli off a single PC this way.

It worked out really well actually, I’ve gone to a hybrid AR and Projection system where AR is used so you can still see all your equipment and real hands and body while being in a projected/VR world. It’s complicated to explain but my VR programmer is making great strides.
