Tyres. How long do they last for you?

Is there any way of gauging wear?

The feeling I get from driving the 991.2:
20 minute public server at near qualifying pace - the tyres are done by about 15 minutes.
30 minute public server race you have to bring your pace back otherwise the tyres won't last.
    45 minutes likewise.

The reason I'm musing about this is from a chat after a race on a CP server I had last week (my first CP race). I felt that I'd paced pretty well and that the tyres were pretty much done at the end of the 45 minute race but another driver was commenting that they should only be half worn and be able to last double that!

Tire performance drops off significantly after about 3-4 laps or so, but they remain pretty stable after that. You can easily do 1h races and more with them.

Maybe what you're experiencing after 15mins is the initial drop-off, combined with a shift in car balance because the fronts wear differently than the rears.
If you keep pushing in that situation you'll risk graining or overheating your tires and getting them back into a normal state is getting more and nore difficult.

btw, in 60min stints it is not uncommon for drivers to do their quickest laps around the end. Sure, track condition and fuel load lend a helping hand, but the tires themselves typically don't stand in the way of a new PB.

One thing is annoying about acc. Why does the tire change in the pit stop occur at the same time as refueling. If details such as water draining are reproduced, why are pit stops badly designed?

Ok now I know about wishlists etc., but wouldn't it be great to have our engineer tell us something like "Ok mate, 30 seconds until we get rolling. Track temp is xx °C and ambient is at yy°C. Start your engine and keep out of trouble. Good luck." when the countdown hits 30? Maybe some different but similar lines so they don't get on anyone's nerves?

Probably because that is how it is done in real life...

Watch 5:18 to 6:00, how they do it and how it sounds, it is perfectly done in ACC.

The real cars even have an ACC sticker at the back :D

Im sure that in 6h nurburgring it was not allowed. You can see 1:28:07 or any other pit, mechanics are waiting to end refuel

Ok, so it is not badly designed, but there might be additional rules and regulations for different tracks in real life, for security reasons or due to space available for the pitstop crews.

Pitstop regulations were changed for 2020, this year you can have either a short or long refuelling, fixed at 10 or 37 seconds respectively, which is followed by tyre change as fast as the team can manage.
In 2019 they could refuel and change tyres at the same time for Pro/Silver cars, while Pro-Am/Am teams had to respect a minimum overall pitstop time to neuter more experienced teams/crews for the gentleman classes.
In the game we have the latter (without class distinction, there's an option for fixed refuel time, which caps the pitstop time). In single player the fixed pitstop time is always enabled to remove the player's advantage vs the AI.

Thank you for the explanation. I'm hoping for a 2020 season added to the game which maybe updates liveries and rules. Not expecting Imola and magny cours obviously. However maybe have the original 2020 schedule before covid, which are all tracks already in-game.

  17. A crazy season like this may not be worth commercially implementing in the game. But it would be really cool for the new tracks.

  18. Even if they would release it 2030 i would be happy lololololo

I'm pretty sure machine learning can automatically reproduce tracks now. Shouldn't be too hard to add the 2020 tracks

The game right now is a Monza GT3 simulator. Gt4s lobbys empty, literally empty, and it seems like the only lobbys where people play is in Monza ones. Amazing. Hope this change in next months
