1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

About FFB fake forces I think it means to be considered, all those overdone effects that had been used in the racing sims over the years. All in the name of the compensation of the lacks of the real G forces.

  2. I dont understand what you feel in your car when you brake.
Irl everything is like covered by bumps and kerbs. You are not gonna feel anything on the wheel.
At most you can feel your own weight on the steer, but on a racecar I suppose you are attached to the seat like with super glue lol.
    All cars have steering assists.
I really don't understand why you are addicted to such effects.

I like that analogy. If you look at other games, they probably do the same but then on top they add something like a 10-way equalizer and multiple sound effects. For my taste that's way to many sliders because I just want to listen to the original.

I'm not questioning Kunos's implementation at all but I was wondering about when one wheel and more grip available than the other, you know damp , paint, kerbs etc?

Would you trust someone that says they dislike the sound coming from the 60's and 70's especially bands like Led Zep and one of their favorite types of music is Japanese pop..!?! :p

Have to disagree, you will most defiantly feel the back of the car move around in the steering wheel, when hard braking in a situation that makes the back unstable.
The same way you feel the car oversteer in the wheel.
If we didn't, FFB would be mostly useless.

But to introduce some fake effects under braking, will solve nothing, but add confusion to the only feed back we have, out side of visual.

The guy were talking about feeling the front understeerig if im correct

If you felt oversteer in the wheel from FAKE feed back, were did the originate.
If it was from the physics of the car oversteering, then it wouldn't be FAKE, would it

The only FAKE FFB of any value, would be increasing the correct physics generated,... to a higher level, then it wouldn't really be FAKE, just the correct force amplified.

    In my opinion.

  12. IMHO all the sims have too much info coming through the wheel. I fully appreciate its to compensate for the lack of other forces you’d get in RL (sustained G, longitudinal, lateral and vertical acceleration as well as pitch and yaw).
ACC is the closest I’ve felt to RL wheel feedback. The comment from @stefanoCasillo about one of the fundamental differences in ‘feelz’ between AC and ACC is due to the more peaky tyre in ACC really struck a chord with me. Its probably why I struggle to enjoy RF2 as its tyre model has such an unrealistically wide and forgiving ‘edge’ the ffb is just full of so much useless information.
A problem I find, even after only really driving ACC in the sim world now, is when I get into a RL car the real steering seems almost dead as there’s relatively so little info coming back from the front wheels. On more than one occasion I’ve had a sneaky look under the hood or a quick question with the engineer to see if the power steering pump is ok...

I'm talking about torque steer induced by one front wheel having more available grip than the other under braking. Similar to when a car has uneven braking across an axle caused by sub par efficiency on one side

  14. you feel it because the car is rotating, if the car doesn't try to rotate you won't feel anything in the wheel.
Again, for the millionth time.. it's not a FFB thing.. it's a physics thing.

Why is it always the millionth time? Why not 999,997th or even 3000th (more feasible) ?

I still don't get what ppl want from FFB, car moves and tyres move, all in a way that physics made it to move, and tyres are connected to the steerign so you feel the forces, the end. Anything put on top of it is absolutly useless and you can drive from FFB in ACC as it is perfectly fine anyway. And if you struggle to feel this or that it's either sth not happening or you expecting to feel some effect that does't even have to do with the steering. And braking is not one of those things cause when car rotates or wheels have unequal grip wheel does what is supposed to and you can feel it all, so there I also don't really see what more you would want from braking?

I fully understand the WHY we "feel it", the physics of the back end of the car moving around, "rotating" around the front wheels axis.

But I would think the HOW, we "feel it", is via FFB ?

And great work with the FFB Stefano,... :D

When the car rotates, the front tyres still want to stay in the moving direction. This is why you have more steering resistance at high speeds. So, if the back steps out, the tires "pull" at your steering wheel.
