1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

The only thing that was said is that other things currently have priority. No one has ever said RTX won't be in the game, just some random people on the internet who lack the ability to read like to stir up things.
What you read is fake news and the writer of that article should be fired.

Perhaps others would like to make that judgement for themselves, or do you think you speak for everyone?

I will continue to link to articles that I think are relevant to ACC, and I will leave it to others to interpret what they read.

You're obviously upset that I drew attention to this. Why not post in their comments section and discredit the article. That would be far more proactive than labeling this particular bearer of bad news an idiot.

    Have a good evening.

Buying a racing sim for RTX implementation... well, it doesn't really make sense to me. But it is what it is so let's say you did that. The developers hear a pitch from Nvidia and say ok, we'll try that. But later they find that with any remotely visually demanding game, RTX drops the frames so significantly that most people will find it choppy at best or un-playable. Unless they have a 2080ti and a single screen. I think putting it very low on the priority scale make sense.

Screw these RTX discussions, useless piece of tech until somewhere next year at the least if at all.:p These last days has seen a lot of Monza servers, memories of cries, screams and frustyness of T1 Mayhem has echoed a lot while i was with some of those online races.
I just saw this meme on Reddit, fits the actual server choice and sentiment :D. upload_2019-8-16_18-39-11.png

I will only be interested in rtx when the entire image is ray traced at least 70fps , until then its just a gimic

No, of course that's absolutely fine.
I don't have a problem with linking to articles. However, what you should have done here:
    1. Read the article
    2. Check the source
    3. Check the source of the source
    4. Notice it's a forum post on this very forum here
    5. Find, quote and link to the forum post (well, tbh that should've been the job of the news writer, but we're talking about rubbish news here, so standards are very low)

I'm totally fine with bringing up the topic, but you're doing it the wrong way.
    That's what I'm upset about.

There is no point in linking to bad news articles if you can get the information right from the source.
If you do that on every bad or fake news article on the internet you'll have 48h days, at least.
And what is the point in doing that if it would be by far more easier to avoid drawing people to those?

Even AAA games don't perform good with RTX on state of the art graphics cards, so why should Kunos bother with it in a Sim, where stable fps are even more important?

Eyecandy vs High FPS, the old adage. I dont get it, u basically already have (arguably) the best looking racegame in the genre, this whole RTX push by Nvidia to sell off overpriced underperfoming cards bar the 2080Ti is ridiculous. If youre mad then be mad at Nvidia, not on Kunos. Nvidia came with this underdeveloped FPS killer of GFX effect and now youre all mad u bought an RTX card which still is not widely supported. Where are all the triple A games pushing RTX games with big budgets to push the whole tech development to the next level?
Edit: Perhaps the tech needed to be thoroughly developed and stresstested to Death first before implemented as a feature on video cards. Like in making sure the FPS drop is acceptable for the majority of users across multiple games while providing a tangible benefit and proof of concept. Leaking stuff which is basically unusable for most and marketing it as the next best thing, is basically lying to the general public. The green of Nvidia is in the extra $$$ they see with these kind of practices.
Besides this, its a shame this really has to go here as "something" extremely important in the current dev. cycle by some. Stop buying into Nvidia propaganda next time.

What if different people enjoy different things? High FPS is cool, eyecandy is cool too... not everybody takes simracing that serious. If the promisse was RTX it will not be cool to simply forget about it (I don't really know what it was promissed, just making a point that can be used for other situations too).

They have not forgotten about it, for now, its just not a priority, which is completely understandable given the current state of the game. Even more if U see the whole gaming industry being hesitant to board the RTX hypetrain so far up to this point.
Better let the EA's , Activisions & Rockstars of this world take the lead in this, if they dont or have not done this so far, perhaps they have their reasons for it as well as Kunos for not pursuing the RTX train more actively. The thing is, they have the Guap and can take a gamble here and there spending recources...

If it were a question of 90 FPS without RTX Vs say 60 FPS with, then I'd accept your argument. But in all likelihood, ray tracing is going to result in an unplayable FPS for anyone with a GPU lower than a 2080ti, and even then it will be a questionable experience.

I never buy 1st generation hardware particularly when it promises the earth and delivers a double the price 'price tag'...

To give this company 2k for a single GPU card is borderline madness and bloody rude of Nvidia.

For 2k it wanna be polishing more than my graphics... :p

I tho k decent support of ray tracing in ga
And only result in mildly 'better' reflections in some puddles in some situations that you can't see at 100mph anyway (well, you might given the low frame rate).

It is not about the tech, it is about delivering what was promissed. I agree that raytracing isn't a priority, but it isn't cool to ignore things just because they don't affect me or are niche... I don't have VR, but it would be really great if every racing game had support for that, because when the tech advances we will have acess to that at a cheaper price point, the same with RTX.

According to Morgan McGuire (Nvidia) twitter , the first triple-A game to require a ray tracing GPU will not be released before 2023.
Even if there are already some games supporting ray tracing, the technology and GPU commercialisation to have it as a usable mainstream graphics option is still at a distance of 3 to 4 years.
Coincidentally, both the future PS and XBox are known to be using hardware-accelerated ray tracing and are expected to be released sometime during 2020/2021, but console games taking full advantage of all the possibilities the new hardware will offer aren’t expected to be released at the same time.

Ray tracing can have a great impact on how light is rendered, giving both light and reflections a much more natural and real look, that can be very noticeable at 100 mph.
However, currently, it is very GPU demanding with a huge impact in frame rate, which make its use quite limited, even for those with hardware that can run it.

The only official announcement came from Nvidia as far as I know, and the promise was:
"At a later date, it will upgrade its cutting-edge Unreal Engine 4 visuals with bleeding-edge NVIDIA RTX Ray Tracing, elevating its graphical fidelity."

So I don't see any promise being broken at this stage.

From where I stand, effort needs to be focused on what makes sense... And right now RTX does not.
