By losing traction I meant losing grip. Traction may be the wrong term, idk.

I'm fine if he admit it was an incident and says he lost traction/rear whatever you wanna call it. I'm not fine with that he argues it was the BMWs fault. There was space for both cars there.

To get back on topic, something specific to AC: when hit by the 5sec penalty one should try to stay out of the normal racing line if possible. On several times I had to attempt emergency passing (with mixed results :B) because of a car stuck at 50 km/h in the normal line at a corner exit. This is tricky at certain corners when the off-track area is not clear, such as the Silverstone International corner between the normal GP layout or at the Nurburgring T4: when you are chasing someone who just runs a little wide and normally gets back on track, he's suddenly stuck at 50kmh in front of you. Incidentally it could be useful to have the brake lights automatically on during the penalty.

 

agree...that 5 sec penalty is a nightmare, and on Nurburgring t1 if you go wide with your left rear it gives you 5 sec...I find should be removed, does not have sense, expecialy on race start with wide cars like the 312t, where appends to be pushed wide...

 

It should work that way in closed races, but in open races turning off the penalty is not reasonable. Some guys cut chicanes or skip entire parts of the track.
