1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

    Hi friends.

I'm looking for a recording program to capture my Assetto replays to MP4 video files (best quality with minor hardware performance impact).

    Any suggestion?

    Thanks in advice.

I use MSI Afterburner for a few things and one of them is mp4 screen recording. It's allows you to change a few settings to keep the file size down and the best thing it's for free.

The application with the least performance impact on Nvidia hardware would be ShadowPlay (or Nvidia Share how they call it now) which saves as MP4 files and has has fairly good image quality (sufficient for Youtube in any case). But audio quality is meh at best, it has noticeable compression.

Is there anything out there that will record just the centre screen of triples?

I use Shadowplay because it has almost no impact on FPS (I'm using a MSI GTX 770).
Maybe there are better programmes available but since Shadowplay is for free and works like a charme on my end I see no reason to look for another recording software.
I deactivated the GeForce Expierence updates, though, and use an older version to avoid registration.

Instead of recording the live recording it might be a good idea to record the saved replay file. That way the system performance is even better and you should get a smoother video. Plus if you do it that way before you select the replay you can choose single screen from the video options.
I've always recorded the replay and I find the performance to be much higher then the live version just give it a go and see.

Dxtory is a good one. Allows you to use custom codecs and very customisable.

Not sure about amd, but if your using nivida. Setup surround hot keys to enable and disable tripples

  13. Not sure. It worked fine for Assetto Corsa when I used it--and I realize that is what we are talking about here. But it did not work well with Prepar3d flight sim--which I will note is much more CPU intensive than AC.

I ended up testing quite a few trial versions of capture software and Mirillis Action worked great compared to the others with Prepar3d.

    Just sharing my experience.

AMD introduced a similar technique called "Relive" with the latest driver, which at least for the video part works quite nicely.

Unfortunately, I can't get it to record proper audio for AC, it sounds like it's pitched down quite a bit.

Shadowplay shouldn't have a big impact on the CPU though since the graphics hardware does the encoding, not the CPU. That's the whole point of the application. AMD offers something similar now as well I believe.

  16. Yup. I mean, am not saying it did. Not sure if it was taking up too much CPU or too hard on the graphics card. But it wasn't the only one that didn't work well. Mirillis Action was the only one that worked good.

I'll note that the settings I was using in Prepar3d stressed my system to the max, so there was very little performance available for capturing.

GPU shouldn't be affected either unless I suppose you're really at the very limit. The NVENC part is an extra block on the chip separate from the CUDA cores that does the encoding jobs, and which can be utilised by Shadowplay and third party software like OBS or Mirillis Action. Hard to tell now what the issue was in your case and why Mirillis Action worked better but generally Shadowplay's impact is barely noticeable.

  18. Right, so it was probably Action utilized the CPU less than Shadowplay. They both have to utilize the CPU to save the video to the disk, don't they? It doesn't go straight from card to disk. I'd have to guess the cpu has to perform some operations.

Got my sound problem fixed. ReLive records with 48 kHz. The audio output device was set to 96 kHz. After I changed that, it worked just fine.

Thanks to all for your replies.

    Another question:

What's the recomended maximum size and quality to set in general options for replays in races under 10 laps, considering I'd like to record my replays at 720p/30 fps? I'd like to prevent any kind of hardware impact in game.
