Generic Car comparison list AC/Pcars

Does anybody have any knowledge of what cars are the same in both AC and Pcars?

I would like to do some comparable TT and before I go hunting I wondered if anybody had already compiled a list

Some of th GT3 cars cross over the Z4 and one of the mclarens for sure.

 

You can search for "assetto corsa project cars comparison" on youtube. There are quite a lot of videos already. Haven't looked at many myself but I have the impression lap times are much quicker in project cars. That should not surprise you

 

I have both a Project CARS car spreadsheet and Assetto Corsa cars spreadsheet on Google docs. With minimal effort I can compile a list of cars common in both games if that is what you mean (let me know). But I'm at work now, back home tonight.

 

good idea and i will try this but not being a full petrol head I would be unsure if they where an exact match - OK yes a Z4 is a Z4 , but knowing how much knowledge some racers have in the forums I thought it best to check here first

Gt3 is a homologised race series so the Z4 GT3 should be an identical car assuming same year.

 

I think in pCars you can't adjust the GT3 gearing so that's something you'll have to match in AC.

 

Putting my 2 spreadsheets together this is the list of cars which I think are exactly or nearly the same in both Assetto Corsa and Project CARS. It would actually be very interesting to see how hot lapping compares on the same circuit in both games.

Before assuming a car is exactly the same in both games, please compare the in-game stats with each other and maybe do some research on Wikipedia ect as well. Also note that the year for a car in Project CARS is what I got from the game but since Assetto Corsa doesn't show that info I got most of that info from Wikipedia myself. But all the info about horsepower, torque, weight, accelleration and top speed is pulled from the game info.

Also note that cars do change a lot over the years and improvements are done often. It might very well be that even though a car is for example named "Zonda R" in both games that both companies worked from different models since the Zonda R spans a lot of production years. So take everything with a grain of salt please! But I'm sure from that long list there has got to be a car that was used by both SMS and KS which is the same in both games.

As you may have guesed the reason is to undertake some hotlapping comparisons and our first is the BMW Z4 GT3 at Barcelona GP which can be seen here http://consoleracing.boards.net/thread/273/old-new

Is not an exact science with the many variables but it does add another interest level

AC just needs Aston Martins and Dodge Vipers and I will be happy with the current car lineup. Feel like those 2 cars are missing from the dream cars you want to test drive otherwise AC has it down pat. Too many Lotus cars I feel but thats ok I can live with it

 

I've done a couple of very unscientific tests with the z4 gt3 (silver stone) and classic lotus 98t at imola

In the z3 despite my laps looking cleaner in AC I was 3 seconds quicker on pcars
In the lotus AC wins by virtue of the fact that after 2 glasses on wine I couldn't keep the pcars version on the road!

Stock tunes and assists set to real/factory

Only spent a short while on it, it's an interesting comparison though and it clearly demonstrates the notable difference in the driving physics and ffb between to the two excellent games.
