1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Yea, I also like to have more information about damage...at least after the race. It happened to me that I spun and touched the wall with "light damage" on the rear. My tyres were hot ofc so I thought this is why I can't control the car as well anymore. I cooled the tyres but that didn't help, so I drove to the pits to change tyres since there could be flatspots that affected the balance somehow (?). Didn't help either. So in the end, I had to repair. I wondered how "light" damage could affect the balance of the car that much but then again I think it depends WHERE on the rear that light damage is. Like..is the aero affected or suspension etc..? But you will never find out as of right now, which I like to see changed.

I'm not sure how much real time telemetry the drivers get IRL, this is a cost saving series so there won't be F1 levels of feedback while on track from engineers. It would be cool to see the damage after the race, however it probably creates unnecessary work for the devs. Apart from being cool it doesn't serve a lot of purpose, you're not exactly going to tweak your setup based on car damage (unlike checking tyre condition after a run which is useful). Got to remember they're simulating the real series, it isn't a add every feature possible scenario like AC1.

I've been watching a lot of the old races lately and it seems a relatively common thing for the engine to overheat after an excursion in the gravel pits. Sometimes the drivers come in to get the air vents cleaned and sometimes they don't and the engine just overheats. Maybe that's something possible further down the line.

Last night @ Zolder, I heavy bumped the car in front of me. From that point on, my car was 2 second/ lap slower and left corners were trickier to manage.

I'd like to see secondary effects of buckling the rear end like IRL when the fender rubs the tyre and cuts it up while producing a lot of smoke. Pitstop asap to fix the wheel and fender and go!
Banging up hard could make a wheel fly off too, making you drive a three wheeler back to pits. Those types of damages wouldn't affect any licences since they wouldn't affect body shape visually.

Not much relevant to the discussion, but similar, I urge the developers to talk about bumps.

I believe that from the point of view of rational mechanics, on AC and ACC they behave as simple elastic collisions, in the true term of definition precisely, where the total kinetic momentum and energy are preserved almost intact after the impact. This determines that unreal behavior for a car, the type of marbles on a billiard table.

However, by inserting a very simple mathematical attenuation function, or at least a suitable coefficient, to dissipate a large part of the energies of the cars involved, which naturally the deformation on each of them would determine in reality, I am sure that the current behavior of the clashes would become much more simulative.

A function of this type, properly implemented, would be very efficient at the level of CPU time.

  7. The Damage Model reminds me of The Crew 2's damage drive 400kms into wall car still mint
