1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Dirt rally

  1. That's good to hear the work is still in progress.

Right now the car is unable to power oversteer regardless of 30% front share. You can make it oversteery with extreme setup but even then oversteer comes from the suspension/load transfer and not from drivetrain. At the skidpad you can provoke the car into donuts-like behaviour (it takes some time, extreme setup and pedalwork) but every time the car really starts to powerslide it just magically "bleed" all the torque and the car gets straigtened out.

I just saw that Dirt 4 is 70% off on steam. Also I read that there is a mod to "fix" the physics and I still have the hope that this mod for DR will also come to D4, is there any info suggesting that this is likely?

Not happy about finland missing and the tracks appearing somewhat generic - I guess there is no way to use DR's - but the advanced career is tempting.

Creator of the rfpe for dirt rally and for dirt4 have declared that the mod for dirt4 is no longer in development .. And the best version is the one maded for dirt rally(-:

For the alternate version made by exbagboy I don't think that is going to made it even for dirt4.

Well Thats sad, but thx. A Fleshed out career can make it Overall much more engaging.

Hi guys, has any of you tried Dirt 4 with RFPE mod?? is it any better than DR? my problem is the tarmac handling, i just can't stand the tarmac handling in DR, the other surfaces i like them a lot..

I dont have tried dirt4 with rfpe.. I only have dirt rally and i have used it with rfpe firstly and now with "alternate version" (better mod with better and more sophisticated real life data) if you want the best tarmac feelings try the alternate version.. aniway I have read a statement made by creator of the rfpe where he declared that dirt rally version is better..

Yeah i tried that mod.. feels a little better in tarmac but still it is a very unnatural feeling, i don't like it at all. I think i'll have to stick to gravel.
Aside from that, from what i noticed, you have to alternate the mod files if you want to race in gravel or in tarmac...

Yes, the reason for the 2 different folder installation is because suspension height can't be changed in game when using the RFPE plugin, tarmac files have the correct default lower suspension height for tarmac and the gravel files have the correct default height for loose surfaces. Other settings can be changed in-game (except for brake bias) (-:

A good idea would be to make the RFPE executable as a DR launcher. You enter the dirt rally directory, and then have 2 buttons, launch dirt rally executable using tarmac files, and launch dirt rally executable with gravel files. It would be a cool update, instead of having to switch files every time. I hope the mod author can make something like this in the future.

Maybe try to make this question directly to exbagboy (creator of the mod) on the racedepartement download page forum.. Aniway you can change the files even when the game is started with alt + tab and you change files (-:

At which point does it load the files? because from that i can assume it doesn't load them when launching the game.

  16. Finally!

Upgraded my CPU into i7 7700K and I finally have perfectly smooth graphics in Dirt Rally. Looks like i7 is the minimum requirement for VR in DR. As crazy as it is. Some heavily overclocked Skylake or Kabylake i5 might also do the job. Possibly... 8600K might be able to handle the game at stock clocks.

So far DR has been the most CPU intensive game I've ever played.

You turned "Ground cover" off - right? I don't think Codies ever finished (optimized) the VR support to have it perform as it should.

  18. Ground cover off was too much for me. Made the game look 90's. :p

Right now I'm running pretty much Ultra settings with 1.5 SS and everything is perfectly smooth. It's not very heavy for GPU but eats CPU's for breakfast.

Phil Mills (ex Petter Solberg codriver) leaked on facebook that he recorded pacenotes in a motion rig for the next codemasters rally title.
He also said that the game would be announced in 6 weeks for a release expected early 2019, the post was then quickly deleted.

Also Luis Moya is rumored to do the pacenotes in spanish and Stéphane Prévot in french.

Looks like they got some things right, let's hope the next title will follow the lines of Dirt rally and not burn in a fiery wreck like Dirt 4.

  20. I heard some rumours Codemasters will make the next official WRC title. I'm surprised if that's the case but it looks like there might be something cooking.. We also haven't seen a word regarding WRC 8.
