1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Driving in FormulaAbarth

Discussion in 'Chit Chat Room' started by Gray Fox, Nov 10, 2013.

  1. I spent some time now driving it around Magione and it feels and drives superb (contrary to my initial impression, when I drove with some helps on).
Hats off to you guys for exceptional feeling sim.

Adrian J. looks to me like a troll or a fanboy of some different sim. Nothing is positive, everything is bad.

For me AC has the most natural feeling of any sims (can't compare to iR, I don't have subscription).

    aristotelis & Si3v

Oppps I've put my foot in it, me and my big mouth
in no way did I want any bad feelings
I do like AC, some of the cars feel pretty good, I'm just trying to offer constructive criticism that's all,
Don't take offence, I've been having a blast in the KTM & I'm really excited about the future of AC.

Sorry i really didn't want to offend I maybe should post some good points too,
which again are honest (I have too here & there )

-Great UI (the best I've seen )
-Top notch visuals, at last a sim utilising the latest in software & hardware technology
    -Best forum interface
-Hard top cars & KTM sim car feel great (the KTM's visual suspension movements are breath taking!)
(Nice how garage adjustments happen in real time too whilst their being adjusted ....I can feel my platform rising & lowering at the same time as I'm adjusting the suspension etc)
-1st release of ffb shows very promising signs etc

I'm very glad I bought AC, it's a very exciting thing , I'm behind you guys, I can see lots and lots of hard work has gone into AC, friends are coming to my house this weekend to try out AC & spend a few hours with it etc

Re.lotus 49 & Abarth -Maybe the actual real world cars feel exactly like they do in AC I wouldn't know as I haven't driven one in the real world etc so I do bear in mind everything could be 100% correct! just posting my impressions good & bad & I really hope its taken as constructive feedback (I actually thought I was helping but could be wrong etc)

There is a whole lot of good things about AC compared to the ( IMO )few bad things, this launch (of a new sim) is highly successful I think & is creating a lot of excitement in the sim community.

    I took off all aids (except auto clutch), I've pressed ctrl & a , ctrl & t
To make sure abs or traction control isn't on (it said off at top of screen when I pressed)

Could I be suffering some kind of glitch with the Abarth & the lotus 49 ?

I dislike the way the steering feels when you change direction. It doesn't load up quickly enough imo. You go quickly from one side to the other and it's lifeless until well past the 12 o'clock position. This same thing occurs when correcting slides, it's vague and floppety, whilst other cars are certainly not, and neither are the small single seaters in nKpro. Either it's a FFB deadzone or latency, or something, but surely the solution can't be to run damping (not that there is force to dampen) or centering spring. FPS is at 120+ so I doubt it's input lag.

  7. To me the tatuus physics look pretty identical, after doing like 50 laps my best lap so far 1. 33.475, and after looking this video , the driver virtually does the same lap as me so its a good comparison to see where he has to correct, and where he slides, and i found out its exactly where i have to in the game,

to me its pretty spot on

    not much grip?
watching videos on youtube of FORMULA ABARTH EUROPEAN SERIES I see many drivers that generate spin with this car. In AC is that the rear imposble lose adhesion.

BMW z4 also seems impossible to happen a spin

  10. Take F Abarth, def setup, load Magione and spin, drift, slide. It's very easy especially on turn 2. If you can't do it, then there is something wrong with your settings or with you.

  11. You can play other sim in any case...post video with sarcastic emo " :) " its kidding job...AC its not for kids...:)

Yes it is with him... he is the best driver in the world that's why he never lose control in the Abarth.

seriously, in that video it doesn't look natural. it has too much grip.

The video is not mine. It is only an opinion ... I just want to improve the simulator, no offense to anyone. I'm a faithful fan KunosSimulazioni.
I own nkp since version 1.0, FVA, FVA2k10, Assetto Corsa. :) And what comes.

In that video and my experience playing, I feel that the car has a lot of grip, not think I can ever teach a real video of this car doing this. I think the physics of suspension is very good, but the tires have plenty of grip. It is very difficult to lose the rear, can be seen on youtube carreraras in which expert pilots perform a spin. You can be very violent with the steering wheel and throttle and there's always a lot of grip.

The Z4 is similar, can be very violent with the throttle that the car will not lose the rear. The only way to lose the rear is intentionally provoking.

    Just an opinion!

haha, thats remember to me my karting times, astonishing grip!!! pretty amazing!! :)

At least, in karting happens due to:
    - A lot of grip
    - Or a lack of throttling

In this case, also it can be originated because it pass over the kerb..

I found the FAbarth to be nice to drive, except occasionally a slide would come out of nowhere and would be impossible to save. I drove around Silverstone just now in the car and had a snap oversteer out of no where, no warning etc.

Sorry for the video quality. My internet very slow.

The only way to try to lose control is trying, and it is not easy.

Try now netKar pro, Formula2000/FTarget. Start with the throttle, the car will immediately a spin. Try entering curves at full throttle, the car will make a spin.
In netKar grip seems much more real.

    humble opinion

Small car, lots of aero, not alot of suspension movement, not that much power...what did you expect?

PS - Perhaps some of the guys doubting should try and go faster to reach the limit you see on real life car ;) :p

  20. 1) Showing the wheel on screen means nothing. We all know that the wheel on screen does not match actual input. It has been a complaint from day one. So if you like most people are using 900° rotation, then you are not really turning the wheels that far. I adjust my hard stops to only 470° for that car and you would not be able to jerk the wheel around like that without spinning like a top.

    2) 170kph-200kph for a light low powered high down force trainer car is not really that fast.

    3) Enter what turn with what car, in what gear, at what part of the power band, at full throttle ?

Though I have also likened some video's to compare to what we have in some sims., it is really not accurate because we are not in the car in the vid.

    Another problem is controller configuration.
Most people will set their wheel up initially and go. And then complain about how some cars are good and some are bad.
A bus, a Cadillac, and a go-kart all drive differently.

Though it is a major pain in the ___, I try to adjust my lock and feed back settings to each car. I will tend to group some vehicles together, but overall there are some big gaps between most. If you are going to be "The casual player", then set it and forget it. If you are wanting to be a simulation racer and run in more than one class of vehicle, then take the time to do them right. I have 5 presets that I can change in my wheel from car group to car group, sim to sim, and that is not even close to what I need. Hell, look at one of my bookmarks is. ty.png

Even a game can be made to feel like a decent sim. We have a great sim with Assetto Corsa.

Take your time and do it right.
I may possibly have more time in wheel adjustments than actual racing, but when I do race, it feels actual.
