With custom dynamic weather, does that apply to the start of the first session only or the start of every session?

For example, if I set the cloud to be 10-15%, low variance of 10% or so, but the starting track wetness is 50%, will the track always be 50% wet at the start of every session, or, will it dry up during the first session and then remain dry as there should be no rain at all as that's set to 0.

 

In MP, would i need to set a rain level to have the chance to rain in the race, or would the randomness setting take care of that along with the cloud cover?

 

I just raced on your server @MrGit@Twitch as I did yesterday as also went on various other servers, still none of them rained. So I wonder WEATHER (pun intended) the simple variability is really sufficient. I mean come on... 2 days on 10 different servers including kunos ones and not a single drop of rain. Most I've seen is clouds but they quickly clear going from P to Q or fro Q to R. I think there should be more to it than that. For example, it's quite frequent to get those little marathons of bad weather rather than a spontaneous rain and then a week of sun followed by another few hours of thunderstorm then another 2 weeks no cloud in the sky. I mean I've visited a few countries and across Europe at least it's quite frequent to have a week of bad weather or a week of sun. Sometimes clouds are there for what seems like forever (few weeks at a time). At the moment rain seems like quite the rare spontaneous event. It really does not matter what server you choose even if the variability is 50% no rains for a few hours server time.

 

Track seems to be dry as soon as the rain stops, will it stay like this?

Yes, I have also noticed this, I expected something more realistic, I hope the wet track stays for a while and that with the passage of the cars it dries up.

 

I'm sure it is working fine already. Just try it yourself, set initial wet conditions and clear clouds, and you will see it. I also think it depends on the air temperature, warmer means it dries faster.

 

I read that the initial settings of the dynamic weather are only applied to the first session. In the next sessions the weather will be changed, so you won't know the conditions you are in.

 

It already does this.
I've done 1 hour racing with 100% wet and puddles on track and clear sky and 20° air temp.
After 30mins the track was stills heavy wet and puddles was all there, only a little optimal line was becoming to dry due to the traffic.
At the end of the race, only the optimal line was dried (maybe not 100%), all around the track was still very wet.

I did the same with a 30 minute race. With a light rain in the beginning.
The result was the same as yours

 

Hmm I'll have to try another longer race, last time I tried, as soon as the rain stopped the entire track was completely dry

 

Was track completely wet with puddles?
And according to your words, all wetness together with puddles disappeared in a sudden?

 

I played in solo practice mode.

I start dry and soon the rain starts, it starts raining loose and it increases until the puddles appear on the track. All right up to here.

but when the rain stops falling there are no puddles on the track and quickly everything is dry.

 

I did some race,

I did another Sprint Race Weekend, and in one of 10 min qually, stopped raining and track went from complete wet to complete dry in just 2 laps (so 4 minutes). In between drying racing line was appearing as well - all fine, just drying was way too fast. That`s completely unreal. This should be done in 30 min to 1 hour at best.
So confirmed!
