Adding to the screenshot: during the interview Marco talked about the AC Evo development, saying that there will be news during the summer. He said they have been working on AC Evo for a few years now, that they are using a proprietary graphics engine which will support VR on launch. He also hinted a some career mode, he said it's "more" than a career mode. He said that they know well people will be comparing AC Evo with AC + mods, so they need to do a good job. The team is made of 30+ people, so not huge. It was an intentional choice to be able to keep focusing on the product. He was asked if he expected AC to be so successful: he said of course no, but his opinion is that the credible driving experience and the chance to drive "your" road car besides race cars was a great contributor to the success of AC. The screenshot above is related to a question he was asked (jokingly), whether he prefers manual or automatic. He said automatic on the road and manual on track.

After seeing Marco interview with Multiplayer.it (post above) I find it strange that the focus of that interview on the net was put on a screenshot and no comments, at least that I’m aware of, were made about more interesting things of the interview.

Marco commented about the next ACC update and that it will be significant to the point that it will be released as ACC v2.0 and, if I understood it well, it will be released with the ‘24 season, which is yet waiting for the car liveries for the 24h of Spa.

He also commented about Assetto Corsa Evo early access release window, namely that during the summer news about Evo will follow in cascade and the commitment with a 2024 early access release and how important early access is to have a mature 1st release.
Furthermore, Marco also hinted the work of porting Assetto Corsa Evo to PS5 had already began.

Crazy how nobody else has mentioned any of this, not RD or other site/blog, and the interview has been out for 6 days now
This is insanely awesome news, get the ACC and ACE hype train rolling! :)

Isn't the video in Italian? When it initially released, everybody was waiting for a translation. If there is one, I missed it, and obviously so have many others.

That would explain why it wasn't covered on sites like Overtake (RD's new name for months already now - see how easy it is to miss things ;)).

No, he said that the latest big update release of ACC (1.9 I think) should have been called ACC 2.0. About the 2024 season he only mentioned the new liveries. Trust me I'm Italian :)

Thank you for the correction ;)
My mistake and I was not absolutely sure because to me (I’m Portuguese:)) sounded Marco was speaking about a future update.

Sorry, Race Department will never be Overtake to me, I've been on there since its inception and I'll continue to refer to it as RD to my grave :D

No hate bro, just being humorous :D But also yeah, I think most people who've been on RD for a while still refer to it as RD, like most of us still say Twitter instead of X

I was on RD when club races were still free(2010-13). It's not been anything like the RD I knew for a long time now. In a way, the name change makes sense, if a little late.

Agree, it definitely has changed, for better and for worse, like so many websites. Still the best site overall for simracing news and downloads, I feel whatever they gotta do to keep the lights on, so be it, as long as they're transparent about it...
