1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

    Nope.
With Monitors FOV is calculation based on size of the screen und distance. Google for such calculators.

In VR you are having the screen right in front of your eyes and the FOV is generally defined by the glass manufacturer.

I do not know what people set as a standard for the Rift as I have the Vive. For the Vive I have seen values between 54 and 56 on forums. I have set mine to 110 as this is the native FOV of the Vive, but it really makes no visible difference either way as for the Vive I am pretty sure FOV is hardware/software automated.

The same will apply for the Rift in some way, but you can figure that out from plenty resources on Google or Youtube, just type Oculus Rift + FOV.

VR is 1/1 and it’s FOV is fixed, you cannot change it.
In AC and other SIM, like PCars2, in VR, the FOV setting affects only the distance at which the different LOD of the other cars appear. I have set mine at 35 because I find it immersion breaking when a cars is pulling away and it’s appearance suddenly changes as it changes LOD. It does not seem to affect FPS.

Ok well now I’m really confused cause I can change my fov i have it at 35 but I don’t see any gauges and just a little bit of the top of the steering wheel. I’m wondering what the pros use I thought or think that you want as much fov as possible ?

And how can it be fixed if I can change it in the car ? And what is LOD ?

Can you please elaborate on this a bit more, remember reading it somewhere before. How exactly does it affect LOD, I usually just stick with defaults in VR.

In ACC FOV is effective however, it totally changes what I see and how. ACC is just simply amazing in VR !!

just try it, follow a car with 56 and you will see the changes in LOD, as you get closer and further away from the car you are following, particularity in VR, and then do the same at 35, you will not see the changes anymore. They still occur but because of the different FOV, they happen out of what we can see clearly, which is the idea behind LOD to start with.:)
don't ask me how and why, that I don't know, all I know is that is the way it is. I know it also works in PCars2, but does not seem to work with ACC.;)

you are posting in the AC part of the forum,, are asking a question in relation to AC or ACC?

Thanks that works quite a treat. :)
There is some performance impact but quite negligible.
    Few questions:
    1) Why exactly that works, is it some bug in engine that use higher res textures for different LOD distance.
    2) Why 35, and not 10 for instance. Price/performance concern?

  12. Cote Dazur

    Cote Dazur Alien

    1. I do not think it is a bug, as it also work in PCars2, more like a unexpected feature, :).
    2. 35 is arbitrary, I did not do extensive test, I tried 35 and it worked, so I just set it at 35, FOV values are so easy to set in CM short keys.

In AC, when in VR, Changing FOV will not change what you see in cockpit view, it only works on pancake mode.:p

Every Kunos car has 4 LOD, each LOD is a more and more simplified version of the same cars in order to improve the performance of the game. LOD change automatically as the car distance from you varies. In pancake mode you can hardly see it but in VR where everything is bigger it is very noticeable, particularly between the first 2 LOD stages.;)

Are you changing FOV or seat position. Wondering if your 6DOF tracking is not working. What HMD is that?

  18. Cote Dazur

    Cote Dazur Alien

So, you are saying that it looks different with FOV at 56 and FOV at 35 while you are in VR. It is not possible except if you are not really in VR and are just using your rift as a screen.
With AC in rift mode, FOV setting does not change the FOV. Period.

I don’t believe it as it is not the way it works in VR, something is wrong here, I wish I knew how to help you, please let us know when you find out what it was.
I am sure you will eventually realize that you are not in VR.
