1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Generic G29 / G920 Brake Pedal Mod

I have the G29 wheel and pedals but the stiffness of the brake pedal is slowly knackering my ankle and foot where it's so damn stiff once past a certain point. I'd been a regular on the weekly hot lap threads on here but had to give it up for a month or so just so my ankle could recover!

I know I can remove the rubber block inside the pedal and there's plenty of how-to vids around. Looks a fairly straightforward job.

Has anyone on here carried out this mod and how have you found driving afterwards? Does it take a lot of getting used to when braking not having that extra resistance?

I've take the block out, very simple job. After doing this it is a very light pedal. I just got the GTEye brake mod for my pedals and it is amazing. It just replaces the spring another very easy job.

I could drive just fine without the block in place, it felt very light until I became used to it. You will have 100% brake travel, and that's the most important thing.

So the GTEye still gives a good progressive feel you reckon?

Yes, actually usable compared to the pedals with the block in place. You will have a much better feel of the pedal than you do with the standard spring and no block in place using the GTEye brake mod.

    Delivered, fitted and working @HavanaB0B.

Feels much better. Gonna take a few hours to tune in to it I think but looking forward to seeing those lap times tumble ;-)

Does opening the pedals void the warranty?

    Yes unfortunately

Hi. Sorry to ask another question, but I really wanted to do this mod but I'm not even a year into my 2 year warranty and sim wheels tend to be temperamental things. I was wondering why it actually voids the warranty - is there a seal which you break when opening it or something? As long as I leave all the wires alone should it be ok? If it ever ends up needing a repair maybe I could just pop the rubber thing back in before sending it off? Thanks for your help

IMG_0181.PNG Section 1 simply says damage resulting from modification or disassembly, suggesting that only problems relating to the mod won't be covered- e.g. If my wheel breaks, they still have to cover it.

Hmmmm, good luck getting that one past their legal team then ;-)

I think from that text it's fairly clear cut that, as soon as they realise you've had it in bits, they're not gonna cover you for any warranty repairs!

As long as you're reasonably confident with a screwdriver you should be fine. There are several how to vids out there, have a good old study of them first. Only thing to be extra careful of is there are several fairly spindley little wires in there which you just need to be mindful of that they don't yank out when you separate the cover from the base and don't get trapped when you reassemble afterwards.

It was a slightly easier decision for me as they were basically unusable without the mod in place (for me personally I mean).

Ok, thanks so much for the help. First I'll be removing the rubber, then I might buy a GtEye Spring soon. Many Thanks

Mod completed, feels really different but I'm already making up around 1.5-2 seconds a lap by braking later! Thanks so much for all your help

Nice one! So is that just with the rubber taken out then? You've not fitted the new spring yet ?

Just the rubber, haven't even bought the spring yet but from what I've found I think I will need too. I always play without abs ( in track cars) and it's difficult to not lock up with such a weak and non progressive spring.

Google 3drap they do some mods for g29 pedals I changed the lil rubber block for one of there's they do 3 different stiffness

  18. I've done it and like it better. I feel like I have a lot more control of my braking. I might upgrade the spring in the future.
