1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

How I use each Setup Setting and what else can they do for me?

    Hi guys

The more I try to understand setups outside of actually testing changes on track (by reading forums or books), the more I see they can interact with each other in less "orthodox" ways to fix specific driving traits.

I have a quick lookup list to aid me, based on what I've casually learned over the years by experimentation, but my understanding of how each setting can help me reached a hard limit because I cannot feel setup changes that gain only 0.3 ~ 0.7 seconds and when reading books about them, my comprehension is very poor.

This being the most technical forum from all the sims I play, would you help complete my list by mentioning quick tips from the top of your heads on what else can each setting be used for?

So here is my understanding of car setups. Can you guys help fix/improve this list?

    Anti-Roll Bars
    Slow-Bump / Slow-Rebound
    Fast-Bump / Fast Rebound
    Wheel Rate (or springs rate)
    Camber
    Toe-in/out
    Tire Pressures

    Ride height
    Wings
    Coast
    Power
    Preload
    Brake Bias

    Thanks a bunch

There should probably be a driving technique forum for all this type of chat so it's easy to find again. There is a lot of very useful information on this subject including great videos from he makers of the game but if you're not in the thread when these things come up it's impossible to find.

Setup is a dark art. There is only a small minority of sim racers that could be called experts in setup. There is another slightly larger group that understands what things do but don't know how to link it all together, and the majority just download others setups which probably isn't all that much better than using the default.

To be able to do setups in the first place you have to be a good and consistent driver, or you won't be able to tell if your making things better or worse.

There are some basic fundamentals you can change that will make the car better. Tyre pressure is an easy one that can make a huge difference and there's an app for that. Setting up your gears so your hitting the limiter at the end of the longest straight is another easy fix. Camber is another one I'd mess with using the tyre app as a guide..

The tyre temp app will show you if you're heating up the tyres correctly. After that things start to get difficult. There's a youtube channel that explains suspension but I can't remember the name of it now off the top of my head.
