1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Kunos not using car licenses to full potential

A weakness of Assetto Corsa's car roster is the lack of competitive cars that belong to the same class apart from the GT3 cars which all sims seem to have. as I see it, Kunos are in a great position to generate more interest in their product by providing unique content with the licenses they have.

They have licenses for McLaren, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Maserati, Ford, Chevrolet, Nissan among others. They could easily give as all the cars form the 1998 season and 2010 season but all we have from those seasons are the 911 GT1 and the upcoming MC12 GT1. The Toyota GT1, if I remember correctly was announced in the early days but no sign of it since. Other games that have wither of those seasons are very old.

We know kunos like to make the DLCs with different type of cars but I think they can make an exception and release 1998 and 2010 seasons without any fear of losing sales because we'd buy those packs without a second thought. I know I would.

Any plans hinted by Kunos that I don't know of? What do you all think, should they just go ahead and bring us at least one of these seasons or not?

What makes you think a license deal gives them access for all a brand's cars there are? It would be like that only when the treaty says so. But as far as we know, license deals are precisely over just certain specific cars, sometimes even the allowed liveries. Sometimes even making the development of cars mandatory that Kunos may not even have planned to do.

Licensing deals most likely are not about general brands, but individually, specifically about a brand's cars.

I agree that some cars there are in AC that lack direct competition cars. But your view of licensing deals most likely is wrong.

It would be nice to have tailored car packs for one car class or series, like there are in Raceroom, but I think both sim's different foci on car availability and the differences in their business models are against that.

It has been said that the only "brand" license is Lotus, and we already have people complaining (or just joking) that there are too many Lotus cars in game.

All the rest is per car model, even a subtype of that model. For example Kunos has license for Mercedes SLS and Ferrari 458, but they can't make SLS Black series, or 458 Speciale, that would require another license. Or they can't make a GT3 car from 2017 just because they have the same GT3 car version from 2014.

Of course thanks for your opinion OP, rest assured it will be given the attention it deserves.
