1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

I pre-ordered both a Vive and a Rift. I also bought a G27. And I bought Assetto Corsa. However, I'm using AC very rarely because I'm not able to run it in VR, yet. The main reason for me to buy AC was that it knew it had VR support and I assumed it's going to support the final VR devices soon after their release. (Yes I'm aware that this wasn't promised anywhere.)

Please don't get me wrong. AC is an awesome driving simulator, no doubt about that. But for some customers simulators (of all kinds, e.g. also flying) isn't nearly as interesting on a 2D screen than with a VR HMD.

Just wanted to let you know how important VR for some of your customers is to fully enjoy your product. I hope we will see VR support at least sometime in the future, no matter if VR wins the poll or doesn't.

PS: You're probably already aware of this, but just FYI: If you're going to implement VR support you might want to use the SteamVR SDK since it supports both the Rift and the HTC Vive, so no need of implementing multiple SDKs to support both HMDs.

Difficult to please anyone with so many different desires, opinions or different aims when playing AC:
    - the Offline driver with highend PC
    - the offline driver with middle end PC
    - the casual Online driver
    - the regular Online driver
    - the perfect alien simracer
    - the league driver
    - the league admins .....etc ....etc ...

Each of them sings a different song .... so, Stefano, the only thing you can do is ... be the conductor and choose which instrument needs to be improved first.
We know it'll need time to make this growing AC the piece of art it deserves to become.

Anyway, thanks for this special thread .... for once we may discuss here in place of Twitter or Facebook ... where some of us have no time to discuss.

  6. well that's what we've been doing for the last 4 years :p

My real hope with this poll is to show how different opinions can be.. I am sure most of those who are voting here will be surprised to see their fav option is not winning with 100%.. if I could choose one thing each user could learn and take home from this is to learn to accept that their opinion is simply that.. an opinion which is not shared by any sizable majority.

EDIT: unless you're part of the Mafia of course :p

This is a nice initiative, kudos Sefano.

I'd like to see AC moving towards more technical detail, a sort of DCS for cars. Looking at the dash and seeing oil and water gauges in weird positions just breaks my immersion. Having said that not being able to stall my car or not having anti stall on the auto clutch car I'm driving is even less immersive.

I go for a stalling/jump starts first then oil/water second. After that brakes :)

Someone mentioned having a race with the dev's day or weekend, why not? I've seen flight sims have fly with the dev's sessions.

It's a cool idea but server would need 1 extra slot, which isn't a issue right?

Racing sim needs VR support for the Vive and other headsets!

I'm not sure if adding support for the Vive/Rift makes it easier for PSVR support, but I think there is something to gain by being the first to punch here. PSVR sales will be through the roof. Maybe the hype/experience will transfer to the PSVR. What is going to bring a new user to the game, brake temp simulation or VR support?

I don't see how brake temp simulation will really be noticeable without force feedback pedals. Braking feels different if they're over heating. I'd bet my Vive more than half the players wouldn't be able to tell it is there.

Which feature would be worthy to put on the cover on the game?

It is more the other way around :
    - PCars uses steam works for MP (which AC don't),
    - Oculus shop is not able to use it (that make sense because Valve does not open its API to external vendors), so it splits the MP community.
In any case both headset (oculus and vive) do run with PCars, hence this is a non-issue for AC.

I would like to see the ability to run a short warm up lap in both Nordschleife endurance layouts. I don't like too much that I have to run an 8-9 minute long warm up lap to start a flying lap. Is it possible in the near future?
And don't let the VR maffia influence you. :) Yes I don't have any VR set.

  14. in next update? Everything listed and more: night, rain and endurance support with change of pilots.

  15. pretty much none... the word "finished" means nothing when it comes to software. Technically speaking, AC was "finished" back when 1.0 was released... but, as with any other activity in life, the more you work the more you have hopes to improve something.
Eventually one day will come when we'll have to abandon AC 1.x and move on.. but that won't make it "finished", at least for me... that's the advantage of not being formally part of the marketing department :p

Aww. Voted for Possibility to change skin in "Pickup Mode". I'm not sure what the wording means but I'm interpreting it as being able to being able to choose your skin either when you are joining to online server or while actually on the server. (the first one would be enough). The way I see it this could also open up development path to having just number of slots and allowed car list. And not how it is done now (15 slots, and you have 5 F40 slots, 5 nismo gtr slots and 5 merc sls slots). I'm thinking the way cars are loaded with skins is restricting why each slot also needs to assigned for a car. So for example with 15 slots you could have 15 F40. For trackday server this would be really nice. As you could list all cars from the ac roster and still have groups of people choosing the same car if they wanted.

The main reason I want it is because I want to make my own skins and I want to use my own skins when racing. The way it is now making skins is imho pointless unless your skins are being delivered with the car download so people actually see them. But any skins that do not come with the package are imho useless now, be it official kunos car, dlc car or mod car. Unless you drive a lots against the ai you'll never even get to choose a skin. Which is sad because some skinners do amazing work and deserve more attention. In lfs we even had skinning competitions. We had people who were paid to create skins for teams (no copyright issues there as the skins were original designs).

So now the skins can not be used for personalization. You just get little more variety based on what the car mod maker decided to include. No 3rd party skins are never used online. You can't even choose to use your own skin regardless of the fact that no one else could see it. It does make me little bit sad because in lfs I always drove cars with my own style of skins that I had made for the cars I drove. Not only was the design unique but I like to think that people instantly recognized me because of the skin. Similarly I could recognize other racers. Teams also used distinctive designs which helped to see who is who. It did kinda help with making the world little smaller because if you knew someone from team x and knew he was a cool guy you could also then see his team mates and knew they were probably cool as well. I also liked to choose my skin in nkpro before races even if there wasn't that many options.

I think being able to choose and use your own skins online would be really nice.

Not only would it open the door for services like tradingpaints but would allow kunos themselves create an lfsworld like service where you can upload skins you want to use. There is also the chance to monetize it by buying options to increase your skin slot size, more skins or whatever. Typical free per person limit could be something like 8x 5mb slot with max 10 files. For 5€ month you could get 10 extra hi-res 10mb slots for one month for example and get access to download hi-res skins . But everybody get to download other peoples skin for free (5mb versions). Bandwitdth is not cheap but if lfs managed to create such service back in 2005 and has been running it for over 10 years I doubt it can cost that much. Naturally any kind of skin delivery system will complicate things but all you really need is to provide the tools so a 3rd party mod can do the heavy lifting and all kunos need to worry about is that the user can choose a skin he wants to use himself and that's it. All the rest can be done by modders.

And before people start mentioning nazi skins or porn skins let me remind you that there have not been that many occasions of those. I raced a lot in lfs and I don't remember ever seeing one. Ever. I know maybe one or two. But even then just give them a warning and if they do it again just make it impossible for them to upload those skins. I don't know if tradingpaints have had similar issues but I doubt it.

All that being said I'd like to see more physics features. I'd like to be able to assign wings directly to the wheels of open wheelers so the suspension loads would be correct, I'd like to see real semi-trailing arm suspension (e30, ruf yellowbird etc..), I'd like to see spring position for the solid axles so the roll resistance would work correctly (with current system it is not close), I'd like to see car inertia system replaced with something that where we could just put the real inertia values of the car because nobody knows how the box system works (what is you box size if your inertias are 3350, 780, 3450 kgm^2 around pitch/roll/yaw?). I don't want to complain but I could go on. But I'd be happier with skins!
