1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

First of all, sorry if this not going here, please move the thread to the proper forum section

i was reading on the chat in on of the server that some guy ( I'm gonna give names ) was saying the mouse steering have some kind of assistance to turn on the apexs, and the other guy was saying there is none

I'm not talking about Traction control nor Abs

so, is there any kind of assistance for the mouse steering when you are turning onto a corner/apex?

for what someone told me, mouse steering is the same as GTR2 / Live for speed / Race 07 and others few which none of then have some sorta of assist

any word from the devs maybe to clear this thing up?

I'm a mouse driver and have had to deal with removing all the aids there are enforced if you setup mouse steering in AC.
If you search my older posts for mouse, freepie, glovepie you will find some more info. I've also summed up a guide and explanation on ALOOG, well that is if they didn't delete it after hating it. AC community is not very non-wheel friendly. LFS, no one gave a damn what you use to drive.

There are two kinds of assists in AC.
    1) The ones you can turn on/off in the lancher/server, like TC, ABS, stability, ...
    2) Then there are enforced ones that turn on automatically, if I remember right:
    You don't have:
    clutch pedal -> autoclutch
h-shifter -> shifting changes to up/down shifting with delays defined in the car data files same as AI uses = crap, I would have to check but it may also enable autoclutch
throttle pedal -> enforced throttle help, this is not the same as TC from category 1), this is a crappy TC that will stall your car on start, it won't keep power down when sliding and in general ruin the whole sim, period, by Kunos: as designed, because they want to
brake pedal -> honestly I don't remember but there is definitely no control over max brake force which is crucial when not having a pedal, it could again enable an enforced brake help
there is no stability aid for mouse unless an admin on server turns it on for all or you use it when offline driving, that's the stability aid from cat. 1), there is no hidden aid in cat 2) that would be stealing your steering and making you drive like an alien

The only way to get rid of all aids from cat. 2) is to setup wheel, 3 pedals, h-shifter and handbrake.

The support in AC for mouse drivers is awful and useless. Anyone serious about driving with mouse or other controllers sets it up in AC as a wheel, 3 pedals, h-shifter and handbrake, because the assists from cat 2) are awful, annoying and don't allow you to drive on the limit, they are there for the console controller and keyboard only drivers... :/

This is done as with any other game/software that doesn't have mouse/other controller support but does have game controller support, one game controller is enough, you setup a game controller in your system a virtual one via vJoy, or PPjoy some years ago and feed this virtual controller what ever input you want from what ever source you want. People use FreePie and GlovePie to do this. vJoy and FreePie are up to date and work on Win8.1, probably Win10 too, it is what I use and in AC it always shows as if I had a wheel controller named Simxperience, you can rename the virtual controller to what ever you want ("vJoy device" is default I think).

Not much on aloog but the explanation of how it's done should be there for all the haters.
The guides and working scripts we use in AC are here.

Yes there are people using these, can be seen on RSR and online.

The assists discussions with Kunos should be searchable around here, pretty much they kept it as designed. At least pre v1.2 it was all still there.

PS.: the cat. 2) assists if I remember right might also show in the pedals app.
Where as cat. 1) assists don't they only show on the electronics app.

    Thank toy for your input

in my case I've playing lfs for almost 11 years now, and always used the mouse steering that lfs give, of course it have a few options as button control rate that makes your accel, brake more smoothly and is true that AC mouse steering is minimal making you more hard to control the car with the mouse steering

but i got used to it and manage to do good times with the MS i know is not the real deal to race with that but is the only option for the moment

so to be short there are none assist in mouse steering that the ones you can activate and deactivate as ABS and TC

    thanks and regards!

Ditto, over a decade too with a mix of a occasional prehistoric gameport wheel until it broke down for good.

I believe there are not. I would have to check again, but I only remember complaining about the throttle help mainly. I'm quite sensitive to steering, notice even the input lag between AC running fullscreen windowed versus fullscreen exclusive. So I would say there wasn't when I tried the AC mouse input any steering tampering from AC.

I have my FreePie script setup with rates I'm used to from LFS.

You can setup some things in AC when using the mouse and keys input but it's minimal compared to LFS, it would be "usable" if only they didn't enforce the cat. 2) assists.
The only way to get LFS like untampered mouse and keys control with AC is to use a virtual game controller and setup it up in AC as if you had a real wheel and pedals.

Use vJoy, feed it with FreePie or something else, working basic sample script if in the guide thread, I'm using 150-200ms raise/fall delay but the script has 50ms set in it and the keys I use, you have to redefine and rewrite it to your liking.
Don't bother with the mouse&keys input in AC, it's worthless. It's not even the mouse that's an issue but the keys for throttle, brake, shifting are and it enforces those cat. 2) assistants on any input for throttle/brake that isn't analog but digital, be it gamepad, keys, buttons or whatever else.

If you need help setting up, ask in the guide thread and state what you need help with, since there are people who ask about GlovePie and also FreePie.
