1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

I lock my framerate to 120 (on a 60Hz monitor) to minimise tearing. The tears are still there but they are far less noticeable than 60fps tearing. No vsync lag this way either.

I hear what you're saying, really i do...

What you're gonna' need to take into consideration is: if you go and get another console...
how much would that have cost you incl. the one you have/use now.
Then what happens when ms/sony bring their next gen... that'll be another ~4/£500.
I don't know, how much would that be you spent...

Keep the money you have, save up some more and wait till 3rd/4th quarter this year, or 1st quarter of next, it's only 4-10 mnths away.
Big things will happen during the end of 2017 start of 2018, cpu and gpu wise, big things are also happening over these coming months.

If i were you bud, i would seriously wait a little while longer, and maybe then bite that bullet.
Like i said in my earlier post: once you make the move, it's only a matter of upgrading one component at a time every couple of years.
That is, if you buy the right components to start with.

If you decide to go now and settle for less, pls believe me... you could get burned big time.

Why would you say there's no benefit? There's nothing but benefit from having higher than 60fps on a racing sim. The sensation of speed and the connectedness to the physics improves immeasurably at higher fps. Trust me, once you've raced at 120+ fps, you'll never, ever go back to 60fps. Keep in mind, I'm talking about SP, not online racing...

my 970 with full nords tourist is rock solid 60fps @ 1080 p
with static reflection and very low smoke gen. all the rest maxed out.
If i turn vsync off i get from 75-118 fps with full nords too.

Thats likely another option getting a second hand 970-980 which may be cheaper then a 1060 new, pure guess as I havent checked pricing on the older gen high end cards. They should be quicker then 1060 I would think also as the 60 series are fairly cut down versions from the 70-80 series cards.
