1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Physics differences AC/ACC

Discussion in 'ACC General Discussions' started by chargingcar, Feb 21, 2018.

  1. Still requires a fair amount of physical fitness. Joe is pretty damn slow too and that makes a difference.

I'm not particularly fit, but I'm a young guy and definitely not overweight (135-140lbs) and after a day of Time Attack, lets say 1-2hrs of track time in 10-20min sessions I'm pretty damn sore. In a stock Miata on coilovers, which does pull a fair amount of Gs. Granted I dont have P/S nor harnesses (do have a bucket seat tho) but still. It's deceivingly rough, especially when it's hot. Doing 2-3 hours non-stop at max pace sounds pretty hard lol.

Gotta love simracers; they know more about how a difficult it is to drive a high performance racecar than an actual driver because they watch Youtube vids. LOL

    You have made a claim:
Based on a comment that NSX GT3 has stock road car electric power steering. The road car itself seems to have weak feedback due to electronic steering (compared to "drivers" cars/supercars) based on car reviewers. It seems you made a generalization about GT3 cars based on one car that appears to be exception in the first place.

DFGT has around 2.5nM max force.
    Some numbers for reference:
    http://media.caranddriver.com/files/hydraulic-vs-electric-steering-specs.pdf

528i (EPS) max outs at ~1.75nM, while 535i (HPS) slightly above 2.5nM. Neither of these saloons are track/sports cars.

  8. Both. Don't underestimate how tough Gs are on the body. That as well as being thrown around on kerbs, bumps, the heat, the mental fatigue, etc. Wouldn't say no to a bit of neck training, even in my car.

The wheel in modern GT cars is indeed not very strong, but you can't just go fast for 2-3 hours and be a fatass.

  9. I think that was exactly the point he was trying to make. Most of the fatigue comes from resisting G forces and vibrations not from fighting the wheel.

Nah Michael, you can do better than that. Now you gave him exactly what he wanted.

I guess my take on it at this point is that since I’m not too keen on paying for a DD wheel (actually it’s my wife that’s not) a good compromise may be to get my ambient room temperature to around 110 degrees while wearing a full nomex suit. Then I should feel suitably exhausted using my CSW 2.5, just like the real thing!

It’s surprising how many people ignore g force simulation and just assume the wheel is really light becausee it has power steering. I’ll use F1 as it’s easy to find numbers. Last year the peak G force through a corner was 6.5G’s. At that force lifting your arm is roughly equivalent to lifting 26kg or so, not so easy to do repeatedly. Yet people have their wheel set up that they can turn it through high speed corners with one finger.

CSW 2.5 at 8nm is no exactly a budget basement wheel. My CSL at 6nm is decent enough and it’s not turned up all the way. DD wheel has more benefit in accuracy of FF rather then outright strength.

  15. Partly, but also seemed to be implying "anyone" could do it :p

  19. ya but G in karts are not comparable to a GT car.. karts can be really brutal.
Also the wheel is direct 1:1 and every vibrations comes through really really strong.

Plus no power steering or even bushings in carts so it’s all direct forces and feedback. That’s why it’s so awesome :)
