Pickup & Trackrotation

Hi guys, Kunos,

I recently started to race Assetto Corsa regularly and I love it. There are lots of improovements to the version I bought some time last year and I've had some great races with the Posches which have been released lately.

I'd like to express my opinion on two things which would be great features:

1. Trackrotation
As I understood it by now it's not possible to setup a server with a defined set of tracks rotating.
I really would like to see that made possible, are there maybe plans to do so?

2. Pickup mode
I sure see positive things behind that, but I also experience people who are able to join the track while an ongoing race to disturb the battles going on. In my opinion this negative side outweights the postives about it. I'm using the realtime app (it's great!) which has been added recently but I think lots of people are not aware of that, maybe some even intenionally wreck others races.
Are there maybe plans to change that behaviour or add an additional feature so people are able to join while pratice & quali but not after the race started?

I know from previous dev comments that the track rotation thing wouldn't work at the moment because the launcher menu and the actual core game engine are two separate parts or something, I can't recall the exact reasons.

 

1. I don't think there are any plans for that. I also read about some plugin for AC that makes it possible, but it was a while ago and I don't remember if/how it works.

2. Server admins can already set race session to be closed from joining.

so is the pickup mode beeing enabled just the configuration the mass want's to have?

I've only seen/joined servers in pickupmode up to now, but I don't know too much about server configuration assetto corsa.
I've also seen 'booking servers' in the lobby - is this the configuration you mentioned ('Server admins can already set race session to be closed from joining')?
Someone told me to setup a booking server requires to register the players even before they join that server. That's not what I think of or would want.

Yes, you can change if players can join during the race or not in pickup mode.
You can fire up server manager yourself and see what options admins can change.

 

Booking servers are still available? I thought they were chucked out with the garbage?

 

Track rotation works already (server side), very clunky as you have to leave and rejoin after each race finishes.
