Playstation VR Status

Hello,

can someone of the developers give some more information about the plan to implement Playstation VR in the game?
pls. be so clear an tell us the truth, even if nothing will come.

Massarutto stated in his latest interview with GamesReactor, during the Porsche event at Vallelunga, that they won't work on it, because they don't think it works right with AC.

 

it basically comes down to the ps4 not being powerfull enough so there would need to be a significant downgrade to the quality of the sim. it could however likely run on the ps4 pro with vr but sony wont allow that to happen

 

The psvr is simply not powerful enough to prevent motion sickness. Racinggames have higher requirements than games like resident evil 7. Thats the main reason I thought.

 

you just have to look at the downgrades they had to do with driveclub to get it running at 60fps. Assetto Corsa has a much more complex physics system and the base model ps4 just wouldnt be able to run it without significant downgrades there would even have to be downgrades with the pro just not as severe

 

Some say if asseto comes to psvr, it will be down grade cause it's not powered enough... Did i dream when i saw that Gran Turismo is coming in march and looks way too good ... For those Who got some doubt, just try the vr mission of rogue one (starwars) ... I guess it's a bad excuse ! May be cause kunos will have to rework the all game and that's a lot of work ! And for free i am not sure they are ready to so it !

 

there would have to be downgrades for assetto corsa to run on psvr the consoles struggle as is. Gran turismo will be on psvr but not the full game it will only have limited tracks and cars. please dont compare a Sim racer like assetto corsa to a simcade racer like GT the physics engine between them is night and day. I stand by my point that if a sony first party studio cant/wont support psvr with a full game like GT sport then you cant expect a third party studio to waste time and money porting a game to psvr in which there would have to be significant downgrades for it to run properly. Psvr should not have launched with the ps4 as the performance is just not there. The pro is better but still gimped with poor cpu and memory bandwidth will become an issue

 

Please note that Stefano has stated recently that the demanding physics is NOT the reason for worse performance AC vs other titles. It's the good work other Studios are doing in graphics optimization.

 

I never said that it was the reason I just asked not to compare Assetto Corsa to GT sport as its not a like for like comparison.
