Please consider turning chromatic aberration off in the default filters

Kunos, please consider turning chromatic aberration in the default filters off - the content of the simulation comes across far nicer, crisper without chromatic aberration. Disabling the effect in the default filter preset would give people who aren't accustomed to changing the preset files themselves a clearer image by default.

The negative influence is yet again particularly visible in the recent videos Mr Massarutto posted, which appear much blurrier than they should be, with the coloured distortion effect clearly recognisable. Disabling the effect would also make the content more representable.

I am not of the opinion that this is a matter of taste, the default preset isn't supposed to be an artistic filter. While that graphics effect does have a place for distorting images to artistic effect in certain situations in the real world lens defects like chromatic aberration are not desirable for the most true representation of the depicted object. As an added benefit disabling the effect is one less graphical effect for the GPU to render and leads to a clearer image in VR as well.

either turned off, or the parameters fine tuned so that its not such a glaringly obvious effect, or a graphics setting the the launcher (off by default ideally)

consider that console users wont be able to edit the ini file...

 

I use your graphic mod and AFAIK the CHROMATIC_ABERRATION is turn off in the Natural_Mod.ini. This is the one I use for normal driving. Because it looks more realistic for me and less "gamelike".
But it should be disabled in the default settings by the game.
