1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Porsche gt3 cup Iracing vs AC

After 6 months without a rig, I bought a new pc 1 week ago to do some simracing again.

Installed iracing and ac because these 2 are my main sims. First thing I did was buy the porsche season pass and first car to try out was ofcourse the porsche gt3 cup.

What a pleasant surprise to see that ac has developed very nicely over the period of these 6 months physics wise. The new tiremodel v10 in combination with the lovely physics of the porsche cup made everything very alive. The car gave me a big smile lap after lap after lap.

Playing around with the setup to go as fast as possible is really rewarding because every small setup change had a direct impact on the car. Well done Aris.

Yesterday Iracing released their own recreation of the Porsche gt3 cup and oh boy I was really excited to see how it drives. Paid 14 euros including tax which is almost as expensive as the whole porsche season pass doesn't matter because iracing has "great servers"

On to the driving part, track of choice is zandvoort which I know inside out. Left the pits with stock setup just to see how the car felt before I start to change stuff. First impression was the lazy front end and the unwillingness to turn in. Understeer from here to tokyo.

Went back to the pits and checked all my steering inputs but everything was correctly set up. Lowered the wing to 1 (goes up to 9) and reduced the overall camber. Went out again and drove a couple of laps still fighting the understeer. After a test session of an hour I gave up and went to bed. Very disappointed!

The question is how come one sim recreation of a car is playful and fun to drive with a touch of tendency to oversteer and the other sim has a car that just wants to go straight. Porsche are known for their high camber at the rear (correct me if I'm wrong) yet in iracing its a no go and not needed at all because the car is already understeering. In ac we use high rear camber to make sure the rear end stays in check.

Anyway what is everyone's experience with these two cars?

I never used iRacing, so I won't say anything about the recreation. Only that I really enjoy the GT3 Cup very much too, more than the GT3 R.

But I can only recommend Fonsecker's sound mod for the Cup and R, at least my big smile increased with them.

(remember to back up the original sounds)

Here's his preview, the current version is a bit more high pitch at the top end rev's, which sounds even better.

I found the AC and iRacing Porsche very similar, more so than any other cars between the two sims.

I did find more understeer in iRacing but thats normal for the iracing baselinre setup

I found it only needed a few arb changes to completely dial out the understeer

  6. Low-mid speed is fine, tho I wouldnt say no to more turn in. Porsche is a fan of having ridiculous amount of diff coast lock on their cars, would help if we could adjust that. Didnt try too many things with the setup tho. Doesnt seem like throwing more rear ARB at it is the way to go.

High speed was always gonna be a problem... huge wing and a "not-really-splitter" up front isnt the best idea.

Anyway, car is pretty nice to drive, very playful but you cant exaggerate. Would have to drive AC's again to compare, havent driven it in forever, partly because my brake was ded.

Good to see you back racing in AC Hany. No rig for 6 months! That's a long time to go without a fix. hope to see you online for some mp racing again soon. I used to really enjoy the gt racing at monza with you demetri and others

I had it installed, but I like Fonsecker's better. Personal preference and yes, Mike's work is top notch as well.

I agree with this, I think it´s because of me usually seeing those cars at Nürburgring only, which I guess is where Fonsecker´s source was taken, and they have strict noise regulations, toning down the high pitch scream very evident in Mike´s work, as well as with the Audioloids version. Might be wrong, though, not exactly a sound expert here.

I just think Fonsecker's sound is better mixed and has the better volume levels of the different noises. They are just really close to what onboard videos sound like.

Of course Mike's are more exciting, so if you want that, use Mike's.

But it's getting a bit OT now with all the sound discussion. ;)

Just dial the brake bias back a few steps and the rear will rotate. Together with some arb adjustment.

Personally I love the IRacing version, the sound is much better than stock AC one (will try fonsecker mod), and for the first time in IRacing we have a car that can handle over the limit. The C-Spec for example just feels like you're on ice as soon as the rear steps out a bit, whereas this car you can play with it, a lot of fun! What I find somewhat strange is how the AC car cannot handle a wing lower than the max of 20, I tried even wing 15 and it becomes much too unstable. Whereas the IR version you can put it on 1 no problem.

Anyway here is what the 2015 Porsche Carrera Cup USA champ had to say about the car:

I've attached a much more over-steery, but still controllable setup for you to try

Wing 20? Are u comparing it to the porche gt3 r? Which drives in the gt3 class. The cup can go max 9 for the wing.

The Porsches dont have a big rear diffuser. So, a setup with big rear wing is more apropriate.
