Questions regarding replays

I have some questions regarding the replay feature in AC.
First, in the system/cfg folder I found a replay.ini which let you specify the maximum time in minutes. I would like to know if this goes for an unlimited amount or in case there's a currently limit, if we will be able to record unlimited amount of time of the replays in the future.
Second, there will be a free flying camera mode in the replays? I understand that replays are not very important to everybody and I love to drive the car and race, but I also love to WATCH races and I never and, probably, never will be able to be in a real race track to watch a race, and there are some moments of the night that I just can't or don't want to race. So I just want to load a replay of a race and fly around the track to a grandstand or maybe by a fence and watch the whole racing from a spectator point of view and be like "Hey, I'm in the middle of that pack!" or maybe "Oh ****, I can't believe I spun!" or even "Oh my god, that was a hard hit in the wall! I hope I'm ok inside that car..." I understand that AC is a Racing Sim and not a Spectator Sim, but I think it would be a nice feature and I'm getting a lot excited right now just thinking about it. I hope I'm not the only one that gets excited with this kind of thing, but if I am, I'm happy to share my thoughts.

As for watching yourself there is a way to do that right now. The way that I know how is to enable the dev apps and go into "photo mode" which will disconnect yourself from the car. Look in assettocorsa >system > cfg > assetto_corsa.ini and change ENABLE_DEV_APPS to =1.

As for the length of replays I would imagine there are two ways to do it. Either put the numbers way high to some ridiculous number, or -1 may disable it.

I was aware of this way in the photo mode, but you have to keep the app active in the screen, which takes a lot of the screen space for me that use low resolution, or some of the features like the zoom in and out do not work. It's actually realistic when emulating human eye, but if you want to simulate a camera, it won't do the trick. I'm using it for now anyway. Still fun. For the length of replays, I tried to put higher numbers (like 2 hours) but haven't had the time to drive nonstop for 2 hours yet to see if it works. Maybe I'll try lower numbers later.

 

There's already an option for replay limit in options, but it's in Mb, not minutes.

 

Yes, the maximum is 200mb in the slider, but there's also a replay.ini file in the system/cfg which let you choose the limit in minutes too. But it doesn't say nothing about the maximum limit supported in minutes or if we could use more than 200mb tweaking that file.

 

I doubt it has any effect. 200mb is more than enough right now, until other cars come into play, then it may be a different thing entirely

 

That was what I was thinking. For now I can go with 200 mb, but later, with full races with more than 2 hours or so...
