1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Of AC2 this statement is concerning me, so if it bombs on console (no shiny things to collect or cars to buy and upgrade that the ADHD console crowd is used to) then AC2 will not be a thing?!?

IMO these are the important words.

It's too early - but if it will be a big success then possibly they might think earlier about AC2. If not then it might be not only too early but far too early to think about AC2.

A lot - but not all depends on how it will be welcomed on consoles. Of course if it will be success then the idea of AC2 might look more tempting since they will have 2 (or 3 if we count PS4 and X1 separately) markets in which they already have fan base. It will make it easier to invest resources in it since there's higher chance of getting profit.
On the other hand if it won't go as planned (AC success on consoles) they still have PC market on which they already have one of the best selling sim. But with less resources available it will take more time to make plans and create AC2.

    That's how I see it.

It may be more like V8_KB says, that if consoles are a success they'll have the funds to do much, much more, including getting stuck into making AC2 the way they want to. If it's a flop on consoles it would obviously change things. I don't think they'll shut up shop and retire if AC isn't a success on consoles.

  8. MM says: "I also think that is fair as well that a racing simulation that costs 40 Eur can't feature the same service of one that costs about 100/year (iRacing)".

Then why not make a PRO version for 40 Eur/year and feature the same features as iRacing which BTW is way overpriced and less realistic? In the end everybody wins: more money for the developers and a better racing experience for the players. Could be named Assetto Corsa PRO (which already exists) and kept only for the PC platform as any "real" sim should be. The end result would be even more money (with AC on two different platforms) and even happier sim racers.

I have no clue how many people iRacing have that works on their game but the what I do know is that they dont get as much content as often as AC do. And in the interview they say they want to keep it small with their employees. I know that content isnt everything but if they were about to start coding something like iRacing the non-pro players would suffer from it, specially since the updates are then going to be to console, pc and to still improve the ac pro system.

    -----
What they say about AC2 is interesting aswell and as a customer it got me thinking more about whats going into making a sequal to a game, specially a racing game. Its not an adventure game where they can write a new story about fictional caracters but they need to license more, add more features (which I guess isnt the part that cost the most), but just new cars/tracks and all licensing costs must be a huge issue, specially when they dont have a huge company behind them that can chip in money, The question is how long they will be able to feed themselves and their family by just releasing DLC's :O They do some works for racing teams aswell and we dont know how much they get out of that, hopefully enough to make AC live for along time.
With that said its great so see some interviews on english and not just italian.

  10. Then my idea makes sense and even more incentive to expand and make more money. And believe me an annual membership fee would bring a LOT of income. And I'm sure they will do a much better job (or maybe not since we still don't have an ingame setup sharing feature or fixed setup option for races:D), since they seem to be more passionate and less greedy than iRacing.

Your idea has one major flaw. It needs more resources because they can't work on two versions at the same time with the same attention. Even if they would drop AC and switched to "ACiR" it's still more than they can chew. Team would have to be bigger

And another one is how many players here (AC players) are interested in the subscription model. I know I'm not.

And you can't say "look at iRacing, AC could be the same" because it has been building its position for years and just content wise they have a lot more to offer. I mean LS tracks that are more expensive part of content. Let's put MP aside (the best thing in iR), how would it look with 9 (?) tracks.

So there would have to be invested a lot of $ and work in order to get something that would make people quit from iR that is a product they know and has been evolving for a long time.

All of that is IMO of course.

  12. Of course it would. You have to invest if you want to expand. Now it all depends on their business model. If they want to focus mainly on the console market and make AC a more realistic "Forza", because its more profitable on the short run then stay on the current path. On the other hand, if they want to take on iR and really become the leader then some investment is necessary, but also the rewards of having such a service would be much more substantial in the form of a quite large and continuous income stream from annual membership fees for a real professional multiplayer sim. In the end, of course, its up to them, but its an idea to be considered and financially evaluated, but I'm sure that the cost for us sim racers would still be a fraction from the hundreds of dollars that iR is still charging in content and fees due to their initial monopoly.

  14. "MM: Actually, after Ferrari and Lamborghini... nothing can stop us! The challenge now is much more related to tracks: there are some we really would like to include in AC, but we consider their economic requests definitely too high. Not for our budget, but for a matter of principle. I know you would like to know which ones, but I'm not going to tell you."

I don't think he was referring to Monaco.
It's definitely an European track and it has an expensive license, so much expensive that only iRacing so far managed to get it.
I think Marco was talking about Circuit de la Sarthe.
