PS4 Rain please!

I realy think You Should at rain to the game it make it much more realistic.
Thats what we al looking for right ? Realism.

Srry m8, we all like to have it, but there will be no rain in AC1.
To replicate a realistic driving behavior in wet conditions it would take more than lowering grip levels and adjusting the graphics. There is no sim or game out there that does it in a realistic fashion, not even close. A whole new task to endeavor.

 

No rain for me, thanks. I prefer to have maximum grip all the time.

 

Netkar Pro (KS previous product before Assetto Corsa) had great rain (see below) with puddles across the track etc. The problem was that NKPro was multiplayer only and it wasn't a popular choice for server hosts so hardly anyone ever used it and KS concluded it was a massive waste of development time,

Of course we now know with iRacing that even hardcore racers who pay a subscription for exclusive online racing the vast majority choose to play in the easier cars and tracks, short races etc.

In my view single player is completely different and people will run all sorts of options where they can set their own AI difficulty levels, save races so they can do full length events over an elapsed time and aren't just focused on being competitive in a narrow multiplayer environment. Which is why "lesser" single player games seem to have more real world features than hardcore ones.

 

Slightly wrong there Tony, you could do practice laps. So not online only. Still love jumping in NetKar, the openwheelers had much better/harsher damage model. Great fun.

P.S. Only asking for rain! What about night racing.... Grabs coat and runs like hell.

Hell yeh rain please, see puddles on the road, mud where the grass is. Add another level to the game Im all for it, day and night also please

 

Yeh, though I am not sure the devs would capture those laps to compile stats on usage? I think it is one of those things that was asked for over and over and then hardly ever used in races. I would use it loads in single player if anyone is listening

 

No rain nor night for AC 1. You can hope for it but it is what it is.
Maybe in AC 2, which wasn't even announced, KS is focused on AC 1 right now.

 

To be fair I dont think this game will even get an AC2 for console, maybe for PC but thats a big maybe. Game isnt doing well feedback wise or sales wise. Alot of people are refunding it after 1 day because of the flaws. Reminds me of SF5 but they arent as big as capcom to hope for long term I feel like these guys need it to succeed the first month or forget it

 

i think it's not possible, the developpers say impossible on PC version.

 

Rain is not gona come. End of. No one realizes the scale and difficulty of implementing it,,so for anyone thinking otherwise think again.

rFactor 2 is the only one of the current sims featuring rain, and while it's not bad it's nowhere near as immersive as one would like it to be.

 

The weather and time system in Project Cars is pretty good and has transitions between wet & dry

 

And Pcars of course (Crossover-sim); it is one aspect of Pcars that I enjoy but, the overall driving - not so much.

 

Rain would take a huge hit on the already unsteady framerates.
