1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Regarding multiplayer servers

I wonder if anyone else feels like it would be nice to run track rotations rather than the same track over and over. I do enjoy the most popular server - ALOOG Spa, but after 2 races I've kind of had enough of the same track. I know I can just now go to a different server running a different track, but
    a) other servers are mid session
    b) other servers might not have the same format/ rules I like
    c) after a couple races you are getting to know the people and how they drive and it's fun to keep racing the same people

I'm not suggesting anything extreme, even a 2 track rotation would be cool, but something like Spa, Imola, Monza would keep me interested all night. Hopefully some server admins will respond to this.

U r completly right and I hope this is also obvious for AC Devs to make this happen.

Im hoping for server API in future. Voting for next tracks/class/mode

  4. The reason no server rotates tracks is because it isn't possible to do without shutting down the server and then restarting it; don't know why it isn't possible, we all know that it is needed, but for now it is what it is

Auto track rotation option in servers can ensure we don't see many servers with the same tracks. Gives variety and variety is good for activity. And who knows, maybe with the track rotation we can again pick cars for that specific track or continue with the same; or if the track rotation is pre-defined, then also have a pre-defined list of cars to pick linked to the new track.

I dont know how far devs will "upgrade" multiplayer in future but for know MP suck hard. Its one the worst racing games MP for me even if game alone is great.

BTW: Why there is stupid limit for cars? Like 8 slots 4bmw/4nissans its so stupid.

really hope we see this after 1.1, its certainly not impossible, it would just require the server to tell all clients that its going down to change track, and the clients to exit acs.exe and wait in the launcher until the server is back and auto-rejoin.

public mp is so stale these days and track rotation would go a long way in improving things.

obviously every server will be running nordschleife track days for a couple of months after the dlc is launched, but eventually when people want to start racing again this would be a great feature

Oh I see, I didn't realise it's not possible, hope the devs update this soon then.

Yea, let's say you want to do a mini-championship online, then you could pre-select track rotation between nurburgring, imola, mugello, silverstone, with the formula abarth, and then somehow the server would keep track of a specific leaderboard. Or no multi track leaderboard if you just want regular track (or even car) rotation.

In other games, every client basically has to load the game with all the assets again, so would be like an auto loading of acs.exe, without the need to exit or restart the server.

So yea, really hoping Kunos can plan ahead this MP update, and who knows maybe release in time with another dream pack dlc. For various reasons, one being MP activity can also pay the bills through dlc packs.

  10. Server track rotation not being available is one of those head scratchers for sure...but judging by some of Stefano's tweets a while back I wouldn't count on it being available anytime soon for whatever reason.

  11. This is a serious question.....why don't more server admins choose Silverstone or Vallelunga? Why stick to (for example) Spa for months at a time? I can't believe that everyone would suddenly vanish if these tracks were selected. Or are the AC playing public really that daft?

The multiplayer part was designed to work in booking mode, in which some sort of track rotation is supported (an automatic restart with a different track). For what I undestand, pickup mode will always be a rough and approximate adaptation of the booking one.

There are many (empty) servers with different combos, but people only choose GTs at Spa.

Disagree, if you think about high frequency track changes. You usually have 300+ public servers, it's unlikely you won't find what you seek.
Out of your perspective it's reasonable that you might like seeing something else after a few races, but this migh not be true for everybody. Then there is the additional layer, how good are the drivers on the server regarding relyability? This is usually directly attached to the fun you have, but not that obvious.

So if there's a combo for e.g. a whole week (as my servers do), people have some time to get used to both, resulting in more stable and close races.
If you -extreme case- would be able to switch after each race and construct the rotation Ruf@Spa, GT3@Silverstone GP, 98T@Nürburgring,...

yeah there are 300+ public servers, but they are so many variables between them, assists enabled, ping, car selection, rules, session setup (10 min quali vs 45 min practice + 30 min quali, number of laps etc.)

the problem is people want to have "go to" servers but thats not really possible because you find a server thats setup how you like in terms of the above, but then it never changes its track/car selection. obviously there are a few exceptions like yours, but having some form of track rotation can only do good. i take your point about having time to get used to both, but given AC is still only polished as a hotlap simulator at v1.0, (broken ai, mp full of silly issues like afk players not being put on the grid and so on, tyre sound or all sound disappearing in mp races) most of us know every track inside and out from all the hotlapping we've done on it, so even just running the same track twice and then rotating would be good enough no? of course your extreme case would be a disaster in public racing, but we are only talking about tracks at this point, i cant see changing cars between races coming any time soon, but id love to be wrong

this is why I prefer non-dedicated servers. active admin and someone there to change the car/track configuration.

I have a list as long as my arm of things mp needs, not holding out much hope though

i agree with this which is why my suggestion was only 2 -3 tracks and I didn't say it, but think they should be in the same car. This shouldn't be too taxing for the average driver.

yeah i raced on your magione m3 e30 server recently, nicely setup so will keep my eyes peeled and check your thread

and yeah i really liked the Freude am Fahren server which had track rotation, but i think the admin just ran it from his PC so it wasnt on 24/7 resulting in it just not being populated a lot of the time when it did run

  19. I miss the Freude am Fahren server. One of the few that had a handful of the more sensible road cars on it (as opposed to F40 v Yellowbird). We need more servers like that, and with an even greater selection of cars. I have recently been doing some test laps @ Vallelunga Club (after messing about racing GT3 cars online since Christmas), and it has reminded me just how enjoyable it is to drive all of those different cars. So many cars that I would love to race online, and yet hardly ever get the opportunity to do so.

this idea seems great. a couple ideas though....

there needs to be an info tab to clic to see what setting the server is running. ie. fuel/tire usage rate, assist restrictions. time of day. track grip level etc. currently there is no way to know these until you are actually in the server. even then fuel/tire usage rate is not shown, you have to ask or find out by doing a couple laps.

if servers were to have the ability to rotate to different tracks, it would also need to be listed somehow in a pull down tab or something.
eg. you're looking through the list of servers, you find a combo that you like, enter the server just in time for it to change to a different combo.

I think one needs to see the list of track in rotation before entering the server.
