RLM - Current situation

Hi everyone, Tom from RLM. Unfortunately RLM closed last night, and all Discord servers and the website have been shut down.

Firstly, I, nor any of the other staff are here to entertain drama, questions about the who, why and what happened etc, just know that we are as upset about this as you are (if you actually drove with us. If you had nothing to do with us then i doubt this has affected you too much!)

As one of the biggest communities in ACC, so much hard work and effort was put in on all sides, from racers to admins and it's a real shame to have it all end so soon.

To that end, a number of us will have a meeting later tonight and discuss our options, what we have available and where we go from here.

I'm not going to guarantee anything is going to come of it, but there's a certainly a desire to carry on what we started. Therefore, if you have any connection to us as a racer, someone who wanted to start with us or watched our broadcasts, keep an eye out on here and I'll try and update as best I can.

This is tough for us who put in this effort, so digging for dirt on what's going on won't be useful to anyone. Hopefully we'll have something else going forward!

If you'd like to help out, feel free to get in touch with me, hopefully the meeting we'll have tonight will yield something good, so we'll be able to go on from there.

Very sad news indeed but I hope something good can come of your meeting. I was thoroughly enjoying the Night Owl Championship and I'll wait to see what happens next but would love to help in some small way.

 

Best of luck to you restarting this.

Would be a shame to see a large factor in league racing just disappear into nothingness.

I never raced with RLM, just wanted to say the above.

Hi everybody - Just a quick one!

It's been a crazy 72 (?) or so hours for us all and plenty of hard work has gone in on behalf of the staff to discuss if we are sticking together, what our options are and the route we want to go down. A few of us have barely slept but it's been so worth it.
We have the beginnings of an announcement to make to you all, mostly a thank you, but we felt it's only right to do it properly, rather than just a simple message in a Reddit thread or a forum post somewhere.

Let us finish working out the kinks, get what we want to say together and we'll have something really really soon for you.

Thanks to everyone who's been asking about us, no matter where or on what platform. Being noticed by so many really is humbling for us all!

 

Just an update for everyone:

The entire staff has expressed all interest in staying together, and we've had a lot of good discussions in the past few days. We have an official announcement going live Sunday, May 31 @ 09:15 BST! Can catch that here, the description will be updated with a short text description in case you can't catch the video at launch time.

Hi Tom/RLM community,

Thank you for letting us know.

I just started racing with RLM and was looking forward to spending more time with them.

My heart goes out to all the people who were involved in making and keeping this community going. It is only the passion and dedication of you that allows me to race competitively and with purpose and for that I will always be grateful.

To loose it like this must be hard on you all but I hope after the sadness and anger passes you can take joy in that your efforts were appreciated and some really great races and enjoyment was had thanks to you.

Cheers for the memories and I am looking forward to the next chapter.
