I seem to be in the minority but the Porsche is definitely always my go to car for the GT3 category, it is just so different and it's a bit of an underdog in Blancpain which I like, So I really hope Kunos smash it in the sound department like they have with the rest of the cars so far. After all the Porsche has an iconic and unique soundtrack compared to the rest of the grid.

As others have said I do hope that is a placeholder soundtrack for that earlier build in the video shared. Infact it does sound near identical to the sound of the GT3 R in the original Assetto Corsa game, which in my view was not anything like the real life car.

The most unique aspect of the interior sound for the GT3 R is that gearbox whine that accompanies (and generally drowns out) the engine note and in that gameplay video it is completely absent. Not only that, the engine note appears very flat, compared to the roar of the real car from most onboard videos. The below video is my favourite in terms of capturing how the gearbox and engine work together to create that Porsche noise. It is a 991 GT3 R of the same generation (not 2019 spec).



As you can see it is night and day different compared to the ACC footage with no transmission whine or elasticity in the drivetrain. With a car like this which is unique in Blancpain, it's engine note will make or break the immersion and experience in my opinion. I know it may sound like beating a dead horse with the car not yet released but it would be a real shame for the Porsche not to get the same high quality treatment as the rest of the cars on the grid.

I have every faith in Kunos giving us a really authentic engine note which many games have failed to replicate (it seems very hard to perfect but modders do a good job), based on the other cars so far in EA which do sound delightful including the GTR and Huracan.

Maybe one of the devs could confirm if that is the engine note we will be getting for V1.0 or not?

Either way I can't wait to smash the Spa 24 with the Manthey crew and fly the flag for Porsche.

Still don't understand how you guys hear anything of the GT3 R, as there always cars around pretty loud.
The Cup sounds in the same Video is just a Cup sound.
Just let's don't talk something down that we don't even have yet!

 

so we get Matchmaking and no GreenHell ? That's a shame ! Where will we end ? (Emotes added to be sure i'm not taked too seriusly, lately its difficult to discern...)

 

I am definitely not talking it down, I just hope they capture it properly in all it's glory like the others so far. Listening closely to that video I definitely cannot hear any gear whine though which does have me concerned and therefore I have hope that it was a WIP.
