1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Sim vs Reality: Just how "realistic" is AC?

Discussion in 'Screens & Videos' started by [XTEAM] j0shter™, Jun 25, 2016.

  1. Hi All,

As you can see by the thread title, I am taking on the answering of the question about how realistic Assetto Corsa is. I decided to settle this by racing Jorg Muller around Spa Francorchamps in the BMW Z4 GT3, and I was blown away by how realistic it is, I won't spoil the video, but it's scarily realistic.

Enjoy and let me know if you'd like to see more!

All is good ... but why not use fog instead of clear in the A.C.'s part of the video? :)
    Good luck on your journey.

Not sure why you compare third person view in AC with a PoV recording. I also prefer the stacked view where both fill the whole space of the video. You don't need to see the full cockpit for the whole race, just the upper part of the steering wheel to see what the drivers are doing. Nice video nonetheless.

As for Assetto, it's fairly realistic - that's why we're all here I'd say. :p But of course on video many small details give away that it's a game and it looks much easier than it seems when actually playing. And physics simulation will always be topic of endless debate with many different opinions.

  5. Thanks for the feedback guys.

Unfortunately I couldn't find the right camera angle but I will work on this. Likewise with the Fog in AC it seemed to heavy even on the lightest setting.

Any requests for the next video? Open to ideas!!

  6. I always wanted to compare any street car with onboard telemetry with the game, there are some track day videos that include some basic telemetry,
From bmw to Ferrari 458 I bet you can find some. If interested I could check my YT history and see if I find one.

Good video! I fimd it interestingto see RL driver go through bus stop chicane: seemed cautious and he went on throttle to soon needing lots of opposite lock. So like in AC this turn seems to be treacherous IRL!

  8. THanks for all the kindness guys,

I'm pleased to bring EP:2 - This time we take things back from Powerful GT3 cars to superlight Caterhams!
