GT3 lobby security is doing a great job of keeping me flying these days. Even when a road car race server appears, it 's hardly worth bothering about.

 

Racing the AI cars @ Silverstone 1967 is proving to be quite useful with respect to setups. Whilst I am not (and never will be) an expert with setups, the relatively high speed corners at tbis track have revealed that several cars have far more serious understeer than I had suspected when driving them on tighter tracks (probably because this is harder to determine through slower corners). Since online racing is still effectively "Tumbleweed Corner" where road cars are concerned, I have been slowly progressing through my car list with short 5 lap races against the AI cars (single make option). The Lotus Exige S Roadster was out on track last night, and this is one of the cars that seems to suffer from far more serious understeer in default setup mode than I had realised, so I made a few tweaks that seemed to improve the situation. Hopefully, this will pay dividends when server admins finally wake up, and decide to race road cars online (rather than use lazy alternatives to the GT2/GT3/F1/DTM domination.....like the KTM X-Bow R, BMW M235i R, Mazda MX5 Cup, and Ford Escort RS1600)

 

It only costs about £5 a month to rent a server and be your own server admin

Is it just me, or is the Pagani Huayra BC incredibly difficult to control at race starts (HR tyres, and TC disabled)?

 

Not tried it recently, but I would guess that a car like that is designed to be driven with at least some form of TC enabled. I am normally the sort of person who turns TC off instantly, but for some of these very high powered beasts it is definitely wise to leave it on

 

It's fine once it gets moving, but the revs drop instantly when I select first gear, and then a single atom of oxygen landing on the throttle pedal is enough to activate the warp drive!

Awesome @Gunja, last weekend I had so much fun on LA Canyon... It was an all Porsche car line up.. Looking forward to this and having a long car train drive... Nice line up not sure about the Mustang in the mix.

 

Funny @Gunja and I were talking about you and @Schnipp over the Discord channel while driving there yesterday.

 

Guys, I loved the times we spend together on SF, but since quite a while I'm not very active on driving myself.
I have maybe 10-15h on AC in the last 6-8 months and 23h total in ACC.

For the future I guess I need to get or build my own (small) rig because I'm tired of setting up my gear to the desk and then have the pedals annoy me on my daily use of the pc.


I might drop in for a bit, but don't expect me spending much time online.
That being said, I hope you guys have a nice time.

 

I have not touched Assetto Corsa since I packed my wheel away eight months ago. There are times when I think that it would be nice to drive a few of the cars, but there is little chance that the online situation will have changed to any great extent, so I would only end up packing it away again.

 

That is dedication, I am truly impressed. I do not have your mental strength, I am still driving AC every day. , crazy! Right!

 

Today i just had a quick thought at those good old 'streetfight' races.

I thought about that last night, had probably the most epic race ever and was trying to think of anything that came close and there wasn’t much since SF

I'm thinking about reviving a server for Racing Legends and Streetfight for the winter months.
So if people are interested and (important!) some potential admins show up, I'll set up the server at least until February.

 

I don't know how to be an admin but I'd be willing to learn because the streetfighter server was the best racing I have experienced in AC. Let's get this ball rolling again!
