1. Do you need support for Assetto Corsa Competizione? Please use the proper forum below and ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Logs" folder in your c:\users\*youruser*\AppData\Local\AC2\Saved. The "AppData" folder is hidden by default, check "Hidden items" in your Windows view properties. If you report a crash, ALWAYS zip and attach the WHOLE "Crashes" folder in the same directory. Do not post "I have the same issue" in an existing thread with a game crash, always open your own thread. Do not PM developers and staff members for personal troubleshooting and support.
  2. As part of our continuous maintenance and improvements to Assetto Corsa Competizione we will be releasing small updates on a regular basis during the esports season which might not go through the usual announcement process detailing the changes until a later version update where these changes will be listed retrospectively.
  3. If ACC doesn't start with an error or the executable is missing, please add your entire Steam directory to the exceptions in your antivirus software, run a Steam integrity check or reinstall the game altogether. Make sure you add the User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione folder to your antivirus/Defender exceptions and exclude it from any file sharing app (GDrive, OneDrive or Dropbox)! The Corsair iCue software is also known to conflict with Input Device initialization, if the game does not start up and you have such devices, please try disabling the iCue software and try again. [file:unknown] [line: 95] secure crt: invalid error is a sign of antivirus interference, while [Pak chunk signing mismatch on chunk] indicates a corrupted installation that requires game file verification.
  4. When reporting an issue with saved games, please always zip and attach your entire User/Documents/Assetto Corsa Competizione/Savegame folder, along with the logs and the crash folder (when reporting related to a crash).

Thank You Stefano for Coding VR

Having happily been playing GT6 on PS3 for years, this summer I stumbled across GamerMuscle's videos of AC in VR. Everything changed. I had to get me some of that awesome AC action. I bought a gaming PC, Vive and AC and haven't looked back… figuratively of course. Literally, I still can't get over how cool it is to look back and see a Ferrari V8, purring away a couple of feet behind you. Thanks Stefano and everyone else at Kunos for making this wonderful thing happen.

We really are lucky. I just took a quick look through my son's steam library - over 80 games & no VR to be seen.

+1 to thanks for making this a priority!

I can see that. I guess the mass market wants an easy drive to groom their ego. I can't understand how anyone could drive those simcades for more then a lap or two. They drive me nuts.
I keep referring to myself as an old man but I'm starting to think we are a group of mature men and some women.

I disagree... I think the reason they sold much more was the "game" is much better. The driving, not so much, but the game aspect is 100x better than anything else about.

Also, they did / do a-lot more advertising, promotion, social work, and really pushed it before release with all the videos etc.

Also, they have the Ben Collins and a few other professional racing drivers promoting their product on a regular basis.

You do make some good points about promotion, but 100x better? I was just in Pcars with VR and it sure didn't look 100x better.

LOL by the "game" I mean the Career mode, the built in leaderboards, the menu system etc. not the looks looks / physics etc. Although pCARS looks is one of it's best attributes...

I do enjoy Pcars. Driving a low powered car in a thunderstorm drifting around. And looks pretty good in VR. Then I get into Assetto Corsa and it's like stepping five years into the future with clarity and physics.
But the side effect for me after driving Pcars for about an hour, when I get back into AC my timing seems to be much better. I have a better sense of speed for some reason. The two sims seem to complement each other.

Guys this thread is for honoring Kunos devs and not mentioned to discuss AC vs pCars IMHO

Considering getting a vr headset or 144hz triple monitors , how is the refresh rate on the vr? Which one to get?

  10. VR - Definately! Got my HTC Vive since last Weekend an even if VR is still a new thing and you have to live with some downsides (ScreenDoorEffect, HMDs with cables and so on) I would never want to change this again. It is just a superior feeling of presence no other setup (in the same pricerange) is able to deliver!

Buying monitors is investing in yesterdays tech. VR is the future and the future is awesome.

Can't say what to buy, that's up to you, but refresh rate in VR is 90hz for now.... plenty good enough for me, but I've never experienced 144hz.

75Hz on DK2 is just as good as 120Hz on my monitor. I dont know what the difference is but 75Hz on a monitor is nothing like 75Hz with VR.

I have triple 144hz screens and have not used them for AC since I got the CV1, take from that what you will

I have people say that to me all the time, that or "I don't know where to put my triples since getting VR", but not having tried myself, I can't bring myself to tell people to go one way or the other :D

To be honest, I will never say "BUY IT!" to anyone.

It can be a pain in the *** to configure sometimes,it´s expensive, you have to have fun at finding workarounds, your pc can´t have enough horsepower, resolution out of the box is too low, and it´s a little bit uncomfortable with glasses. (I use contact lenses now/vrcover sells alternative facial interfaces for glasses for oculus, havn´t tried them by now)

But it´s great fun once you configured everything right.

I won´t go back, because it´s very immersive.

Try both, i prefer the oculus, but both make sense.

Where to put my triples since getting VR! That's funny. Mine are sitting on top of my cockpit collecting dust.

I put them in once in awhile and yeah, the clarity is amazing. My PC can run full out. I love playing with all the PP settings but.... And this is a big butt. I can't drive worth a crap and get bored with the candy and go back to VR.

Using gasses can certainly be done but, can also be a nuisance. If you can use contacts, that may be better but, I've read about some fitting an extra pair of prescription glasses into the HMD face-plate in a semi-permanent role.
